Like OCNC your confussing me slightly with Z + - calibration.?
If steps per is set correct then thats it nothing else need be calibrated. If you still have error then it must be mechanical or your...
Don't think it will be missing balls because to give 1/4" of error then you would easily feel that in the nut when building or even just turning the screw by hand as it would be very sloppy and...
Yes I fully understand what you mean regards quality and there was a time when I recommended NOT buying the chinese VFD's but things have changed and they have got better.
I have High quality ABB...
That depends where you buy from.? I've bought several Vfd/spindels setups from Chai at Linearmotionbearings and if there's ever been a problem he's more than happy to help correct.
In the early...
That's quite normal after several hours use, great on days like today when it's -5 for warming the fingers. .Lol
Regards missing steps on Z axis then if it's doing it at this low speed then I would...
Yipee nice to see it come alive Stef. . . . Bet the kids loved seeing it cut them dino's.
How hot are the Motor's.? They do get quite warm but shouldn't be burning hot.!
Try backing off the...
Problem with those is they are not all supported rails. I wouldn't build any machine with unsupported rails your just asking for problems.
These will be much better and they are 25mm not 20mm. If...
No I wouldn't bother with a flow switch. They will run quite a long time before causing trouble.
Recently my pump failed and I cut several small 15-20min jobs without coolant flowing with out any...
Be carefull with the pump.!. . 2 main things to look for are Head height if pumping from a tank and duty cycle time. Duty time is often the thing that kills pumps and you need one that is rated...
Hi Stef,
Coming along nicely, Good choice changing that Z axis it will perform much better.
Before you start making chips I would cover the gaps down the side.! Amazing how much crap gets onto...
Here another.!
Looks like you and I have been to the same place Jeff. .Lol
How do you get them to display.?
quick search and i turned up this.!
When posting goto Additional options -Atach files just below the text box choose manage attachments then in pop-upbox click browse choose pic then click upload and submit reply in normal way.
just...
quick traced round these there long way from ideal but may give you more to work with.
Erm ye I thought they looked like Web downloads unfortunatly can't do anything with them. . . . .Well not quickly anyway.
The resolution is too low can you get higher quality.?
Here you go but you'll have to do the clean up.
Had to zip them as well.
To do this correctly you need 4 axis contoller with each motor using it's own drive. X Y Z A then you can slave X or Y to A.
It could be done using 1 drive running 2 motors but not recommended.!
Chai sells good spindles and yes go direct. He's a good guy to deal with, Ive bought several spindles both for personal use and machines I've sold and between these and folks who I've recommended use...
With a sensorless torque vector drive the lowest usable speed i've been able to get down too is 4000rpm which hisn't bad for a spindle ment to run at 6000rpm.
Ye I think the same Ger regards the resolution and 3:1 is better IMO. . . Thou my experience with the 34's over the 23's is that they give far stronger torque up the range almost full then just drop...
Your welcome,
Wished they where that close to me because I actually have the 350 as well which needs repairing. The main cable on the spindle dead shorted and fryed the motor and also damaged some...
Mark I'm not being argumentative here but YES it was a STUPID & DUMB suggestion and those that actually use an open container are just plane stupid idiotic fools.!
Lots of folks turn to these...
Most decent brand manufacters like ABB, mitsubishi, hitachi etc will be fine so long as you get the correct model to match spindle spec. IE Amps KW, frequency range.
The only advice I would give is...
Whind your neck in Drboom I wasn't diddling with ya or trying to suggest your opinion was inferior.! . . . My point being it doesn't need to be made complicated with rads, fans etc and a simple...
Well yes if someone is dumb enough to have a open container of water next to electrics then you would be right but that said they really shouldnt be in charge of a machine that can rip limbs off...
Definatly go with the WC 2.2kw, no need for all the complex PC radiator stuff just a simple submersible fish tank pump dropped into 25lt barrel or tank of distilled water with antifreeze does the job...
First go with the ER20 2.2kw from china but buy the VFD local or in EU, the cheap chinese vfd's are very poor quality. ER20 makes a more flexable range of cutters available.
I can fully recommend...
Depends on what you intend to do really.? Some software is better than others at differant job's.!
I use bobcad and yes the software has a bad name and the support is shocking but when you've...
