Have checked the z screw? they're known to be weak and dirt can lock them up.
It should read either format, hpgl or gcode. I have a 1999 MC Pro, I'm still running it off Win98 and MC's DNC (serial) program.
Around 1999 was when they switched to Ethernet vs. Serial.
PM me...
this may help.

You might try this Guy. ...
Mulitcam's are known for weak Z's. As mentioned above, ramping EM's is important.
I'm running a Masso G2 on a plasma table I built and it works well. When my 2 spindle MC Pro controller dies I plan on a Masso G3, the G3 supports multiple heads.
Which MT22 do you have, if I remember they produced a couple of them? I'm running a 1999 MC Pro 5x10 w/vac table with 2 - Z's, 7.5 hp Colombo's. The machine's work horse for sure. Still using...
I had the same problem when running DNC on XP, controller would hang when running files.
Since DNC drip feeds the controller, if you encounter a problem always re-start your file from the HD. ...
Try Win98
I believe that's a different version of WinDNC. I have attached WinDNC with instructions, but be aware I believe this version of WinDNC only runs on Win98..
Look at the PrintNC. You can buy mechanical and electrical parts as a package.
If you're taking the time to build a cnc might as well be a good usable one.

I had a MC 44 Plus. If memory serves, the main difference was the Plus had slightly larger stepper drivers and more powerful NEMA 23 motors. My system had 2 - 5.5hp Perske spindles on independent...
Not sure, but I was under the impression that MX32 only works with Multicam Extratech boards.
I'm running a Masso, works well with touch off but have yet to get THC to work well.
Some are using MyPlasma controller with integrated THC and CAD abillity, very reasonably priced. There's...
Just Googled the part number.

Not sure about the MC 3000 but the older MC's that used a Serial cable for connection to the computer, and used WinDNC (Win98) or MX32 to transfer files. If i'm not mistaken a DB-9 Null Modem cable...
RP in the CNC world generally means Rack & Pinion.
I have various older MC machines, one still running with win98. The MT 22's are a stout little machine, especially the ones with the heavy welded base. I recently built a CNC plasma table and used...
Will do. Looks like it's just a big muffler.

Anyone know what material is in the welded base of the 20 hp Turbo Vac? Mine overheated and trying to see if it's still useable.
When mine would "hang" the machine's motion would stop, can't remember if the spindle would also stop, but the controls would not react until the system was re-booted. My machine was running the MC...
Southeast Tool sells what you need. According to your measurement you need ER-25 collets and cover nut. SET sells those and the wrenches, (spanners)....
It would show it was connecting/disconnecting using a meter, but would not fire the HP. Cutting nice now, first trial. :)

Solved my issue, got table cutting. I had used a solid state relay to fire torch and HP45 did not react to it for some reason above my pay grade. Replaced it with a mechanical relay and that solved...
I've completed my plasma table, using a Masso controller and a new HP 45XP. Having an issue on getting the HP 45XP to trigger from the CPC and Masso.
Running a HP machine torch, just using ht....
First rule of CNC cutting, NEVER rely on any sheet stock to be square. :-)
This may help, from approx. that vintage. First is factory method, second is not.
Depending your controller and CAM software you need a post processor for plasma CNC that will write the torch on/off into the Post file. If you're using GCode you can also do this manually if you...
Also, to add to MCP's comments, if you use a dust collector with the hose shown, ground the copper winding in the hose otherwise you may have a static issue. I had a similar MC and the static from...
