I have had this problem of taking several minutes to display a folder on one of our HAAS machines. Something to try is push the Emergency Stop button in and then try navigating to your folders. This...
Try in Australia, nearly three time that cost!
We did, sourced some new washers and now our draw-bar repairs only cost a few dollars.
Andrew. :)
Same problem here for many years since changing to windows 7. Our HFO is working on it without much joy. I'll post back when a solution is found.
Andrew. :)
HSS should be fine in Aluminum. I use either HSS or a piece of tungsten carbide brazed onto a HSS shank. It sounds like you didn't have any chip clearance at the bottom the the slot if it is a blind...
Here is my program I've used many times.

#101= 4.5 (orient inc angle)
#102= 360 / #101 (calculate number of steps)
#105= #100

We have had a few of these bolts break on our VF2 SS machines.
Andrew. :)
If you do get it, be certain to check long tools when doing a tool change, there is not much clearance.
Andrew.:)
Setting 7 (on or off) unlocks parameters and allows you into debug mode.
Andrew. :)
Max thrust for Z axis is 3923 lb, maybe compare that to a Lathe z axis thrust that is known to work with the broach.
Andrew. :)
I have had this happen several times over the years with our machines.
Here are some things to try.
Try re-loading all the network settings on the machine.
Try direct connection to the PC...
The limiting factor is how far from the axis centre line your are machining. And then it depends on if you are drilling (high z load off centre is bad) or using a end-mill. Start our with light cuts...
Air is used to engage the brake, Ask HAAS for the correct setting to use?
Andrew. :)
Can you give us some more information in regards to what you are trying to do? Work out the angle for co-ordinate rotation after probing?
I can see a problem in the line below highlighted with...
This has worked for us. Also make sure there are no burs on the plunger.
Andrew. :)
We have several VF2's and had similar problems. We just added a second pump that ran all the time and added two extra flushing points like on the z axis cover to the back walls either side of the...
In XP try doing a "search for computer" and put in the exact name that you put into the HAAS control. It will show up then (it does for our machines) and then you can map that drive and write...
G'day, What sort of trouble are you having?
We have 8 HAAS's with Ethernet (oldest for 10 yrs) and the only time we have trouble is when our server goes down. This did cause a bit of trouble...
Mitsubishi = good. We use ASX, AQX & AJX cutter bodies.

A few years ago we did simultaneous work with tool steel dies for our foundry. The quality of work that was produced suitable the purpose. Now we only use them for multi operations (3+2 type work)...
Our 4yr old VF2SS has done over 1,300,000 tool changes all at 100% and has never let a tool go out of the arm.
Andrew.:)
We have, see http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85173
Andrew. :)
G'day all, Our HFO has just replaced the entire tool changer cam box assembly (haven't received the bill yet!) on our machine with about 620,000 tool changes on it. A bearing had collapsed inside...
G'day all, Does anybody out there check the draw-bar tension periodically? If so what type of gauge do you use? We have a preventative maintenance program via our HFO and they don't check it as part...
It is a water based soluable oil cooant (FUCHS ecocool 420) mix at 5%.
Adnrew.:)
You are not alone, We have 2 VF2SS machines (about 3 years old) with TR160 trunnions on them, so for each tool change the table has to move to the extents of each axis. We have had the X & Y axis way...
Any time we get a problem with a probe (probe open alarm) program that has been running OK before hand we change the batteries. The only other problem we had once was with the power supply to the...
I have attached a few pages out of the Renishaw manual for HAAS machines that deal with this procedure.

When using slitting saws (not that often) I use the spindle load monitoring. Start the cut, wait until full engagement, note the load (eg: 32%), add 5% to it (now 37%) and set my override at that...
Send me a PM and I'll send you the one I use.
