I realize this is late but I would check your collet and make sure it's not broken. Put a mark on your router bit where it meets the collet and see if it moves after cutting.
+1 on that advise. I have the Hitachi and 2.2 spindle and it works extremely well. A lot of support for setup on the forum as well.
I hear ya! I thought that would be the easy part. Almost 9 months later I moved the gantry for the first time! The best part of the experience is knowing every single detail intimately! I've got...
As an option, take a look at the AC servos from dmm-tech.com . I purchased the 900W, 7.2 Nm servos and drives as a package and don't regret the investment even a little bit. The owner and...
I've had reasonable success by coating the entire edge surface with Titebond glue. I've even thinned it a little with water and used an HVLP to spray it on. Experiment with different velocities and...

I wouldn't read too much into it. The QC on these are done by a 13 year old. Besides rotational balance is the same regardless of its position. Just like balancing your tires. The index changes...
Brushless VFD? Unless your machine is made of 100% MDF or HDPE, I'm pretty sure the spindle will be grounded. Check continuity with your ground bar.
Cool looking control rig. I have the exact same Dell PC running mine. What are the DRO's displaying? Do you have another E-Stop in the loop? That position doesn't look like it's in a panic spot....
I have the X200 and same spindle. It doesn't matter which wire goes on which terminal from the VFD to the spindle, they're all equal current. If it runs in a different direction than what you...
You should be using a VFD / Inverter to attain 3 phases. From your VFD you should have UVW output connectors. Correct? In high voltage distributions, it is not common to have a neutral wire, as...
3ph from inverter, so you should be able to connect them in any order.
I am experiencing the exact same thing. Y+ axis points north (up) on the toolpath display. On my setup x home is bottom left and Y limit is upper right. The toolpath is completely opposite. ...
Thanks to all for your replies. Jeff, I sent an email to Stock Drive Products and immediately received a reply from this robbie guy asking me who I was and what my address was. I replied and then...
Thanks for the reply. I'll look into that if my search goes much longer. I guess what I was asking is rather than a quote to modify my existing ones, does someone know of an internet source for new...
I am upgrading the servos on my system. My previous servos had an 8mm bore and 3mm keyway. The shafts on my new servos require a 14mm bore and a 5mm keyway. I have been searching for nearly a...
It's the process of milling using machinery thus eliminating the tedious process of milling by hand.
There are two types of leveling devices; there is a simple screw type that comes with a wrench and then a second much more expensive type that includes a retractable ratcheting lever. Because I'm...
I've used Woodbond II glue in the past with pretty decent results.
I use the ER20 as I have a sizable collection of 1/2" and 1/4" router bits. My Chinese spindle came with a 9mm collet so I went to MariTool and purchased 1/4" and 1/2" collets. Nice quality and...
I agree that it may be too small. I started with a 15" then to 17" and currently on a 19" EloTouch and that seems to be the optimum size. If you were interested in consolidating your systems to...
Has anyone tried bench dogs like these from Lee Valley tools? LINK
The spindles are much quieter and hold torque better than their router counterpart. Do a search through this thread and there are many discussions regarding cooling systems; anywhere from CPU...
He replied to an email I sent yesterday. He's still around and answering his email. Granted, I had a simple question and wasn't requesting a warranty exchange.
How is everyone wiring the terminal? The terminal has 1-2-3 on it but how does this relate to U-V-W ? Is it simply 1->U, 2->V, 3->W?
Thanks for the quick replies. I've got 16 TPE so I'll drop to 18 and give that a shot.
Thanks again! Nice knowing there's people out there experiencing the same things.
What gage cord is everyone using on the 2.2Kw spindle. I'm thinking it should be 16 but it doesn't want to fit the strain relief. 18 seems light. Also, how do you get the damn solder terminal out...
Do you mean deionized (DI) water? I've never heard of de-ironised water. I received my spindle from China today and need to get the cooling system going. DI water is corrosive and I wouldn't think...
That will be the interesting part. Best of luck!
Isn't that like transplanting a BMW M3 engine into a Kia? ;-)
