I know this is probably going to be a ...............well DUH question, but why does the X2 need a counter weight , and the 0704 not?
Thanks
Smooth Stepper, would also be a good choice?

A couple Mach questions
If you have neither the software or hardware at this point..............
Would you pick 3, or 4
Would you use Printer port or not.
How does Mach 4 connect to...

yes I have a makerfarm machine up and running. What I am wondering is how to add support to a model, how to slice it, how to designate which head prints what etc....... done a little...
So if you wanted to have dual heads to print support material,. where would you start?
This has HOSS written all over it.

ABS is working, the key is getting Z set exactly, added a fine z adjustment and off i went. Looking forward to your two color efforts.
Just started trying ABS. Cant get it to stick to anything, Kapton tape is on order...... anything else work? Tried Blue masking tape, Hightemp blue powdercoat tape, clean hot glass 75c.... abs and...
Hoss What do you find you use more ABS or PLA?

The Marlin post is interesting, what board can handle up to 3 extruders, fans and bed. The Gen6 board I have is great for me as a beginner, plug and play so to speak, but I'll be wanting multi...
Thanks
I had the thought of turning the X mounts upside down, so the belt is below the smooth rods, but still above the extruder. on mine, that is the limiting factor the belt hits the rear...
Thanks
One last question if I might.
How much Z room, did you have before the dual extruder and after?
When I bring it up in Pronterface is shows the piece as about 30 by 60mm. I have calibrated the XY, and they move the correct distance when jogged in Pronterface.
Pardon me, the 2hotends mount.
Anyone have any scale problems? I measure the xy movement in Ponderface and it matches. A 20 by 20 test cube is correct, but when I print Hoss's double extruder mount for example, it prints about...
So where did you get your kits? I might be able to beat september....
Anybody got a good spot for the Mk138 board..... is it doable for a first build newb?
Hoss. Slatronic and Leeway, thanks for the thoughts, I too did not do enough research, need room for second extruder and heat bead control in software, as well as a fan or two. After watching Hoss...
Well got the Prusa Friday and have it moving today. So cool for a newb. Anybody using Gen 6 board to control heat bed? My directions just wire direct and electrronics are a challenge for me.
...
well Hoss I have followed your lead once again and just ordered a Prusa from Maker Farm. The basement is being remodeled, so work on the G0704, is going to have to wait, so a nice small toy to keep...
A little off topic, but anyone got a source for a computer to run Mach3, did a little checking and 32 bit is harder to find than I thought.
superfly If you can put the two thunbscrews on the downhill side, it should have enough thread to level you up. Mine gets pretty solid when the weight of the mill gets on the screws.
I got that base when I got the mill, has worked great, easy to fix in place, but my rapids aren't as fast as Hoss's
Ok newbe idea and drawing, but the 5th axis concept has me losing sleep. Could you attach a gear inbetween the head and z dovetails drive it with a belt from a stepper attached to the head..........
Looks like Grizzley discontinued the G0704. Only thing listed is the x axis drive.
An intersting site and use of CNC. I particularly enjoyed his process link.

Motor number 2 is acting up. Blew fuse, was very warm, sounded like something loose inside. took it apart, looked fine, no burn, nothing loose. Hooked it up on the table, no load, turned on still...

I used Hoss's drawing and a rotary table. Any excuse to buy a new tool! Learning how to do things manually , to apply to CNC as i work on the build. Need real small endmill for the...
