Good going jason, you're almost there, then you get to pick it all back down and paint it

Boy do i wish my 4' x 8' was done so i could do more heavy duty stuff with the little beast, all i can do now is continue collecting parts and materials and admire guys like you, then again you did...
"That" i did not know, thanks :o
Just putting a note to receive email updates.
This is one of the major things i do with my cnc, cut the simple things by tablesaw/hand, more intricate stuff i leave these to the router, saves "alot" of time and can tackle things that would...
This thread just keeps getting better and better, i can't believe i've overlooked it so long, your efforts are greatly motivating to us all who have viewed it i'm sure, keep up the fantastic work.
Thanks, i'll send them an email see what they say. I do think you shoud gear in down though, to increase your resolution, that might be a contributing factor to those jagged cuts, if you get the time...
How much was the rack from stdsteel.com, do you know if they do international orders?
here are a few of the ideas i came across when i was setting up mine, take caution these are not my designs, by using them you do so at your own risk, i'm just pointing you where i went, hope it...
Niiiiice, it will be interesting to see how your fourth axis turns out.

Great going, I can't wait to see how things turns out, keep it up.
Very nice build and by the looks of it well worth the time invested, but you know us in the zone, we love pics & vids, helps motivate and add new ideas, we're waiting. :)
Nice and smooth it seems to go, but by the looks of it you're right, 1000 IPM is a bit much for this size machine, seems you really have outdone yourself, congrats on a job very well done, hope i'm...
Do you mean "wmv"? as far as i know wma format is audio, according to youtube, supported formats are .AVI, .MOV, .WMV and .MPG formats, no greater than 1GB or exceeding 10 Minutes, I don't know if...
they are quite a few of us here "reeaaaaaally" wanting to see a vid of this bad boy in action, what's the latest PK?
I suggest you "don't" ignore those holes, they are to allow for the bolts on the adjustment blocks, otherwise they will hit the gantry, also limiting the width of your "Y" travel by over an inch if...
coincidentally i was thinking about this exact same idea yesterday, and was wondering why haven't or if anyone tried it yet, thanks for sharing.
I too like the idea of a 1/4 sheet fitting on the machine, cutting area i think on mine is 26" x 50" if i remember correctly, which if so will allow for a 1" border for clamping outside and still...
now this looks interesting, got any idea what your cutting area will be yet, or is it too early to say?
I'm working on the lionclaw build for the main reason i'll get greater cutting area with...
Have you done an enclosure for your router, i'd start there as it should be cheaper than the cost of a router, i've heard it helps with dust control too.
Something you could consider.
This "guy" rocks!
this too i took into consideration, that's why i stressed on a "bit".
I looked at your first image where i saw the rods behind the z carriage, the holes in the back didn't look like it'll be carrying those open type linear bearing blocks like the ones you got for the z...
Looks to me like you'll have a bit of flex from those unsupported rails, can you alter that design anyhow?
hmmmmmmm, i think this seriously needs to keep an eye on, something seems amiss.
