Hi All,
Looking at purchasing a machine. Currently looking at Omni, Blue Elephant and Fine CNC.

Has anyone purchased from...
What accuracy and repeatability can you cut with? Do you cut any aluminium?
awest486 - have you sorted out the issues with this machine, or are you still experiencing problems?
The company this post is written about is Blue Elephant[/QUOTE]
Hi Allen,
What is the constant water cooling spindle?
Hi Nic,
Thanks for the reply - for something we are ordering from China - trying to figure out where it is better to save money and where it is better to spend it. We're looking for speed and...
Does anyone have / used both HSD (Italian or USA) spindle(s) and HQD (Chinese copy) spindles?
Any comment on quality, reliability, power, precision?
We're looking to cut aluminium fast - so...
Don't buy round rails. The extra (negligable) cost of linear rails is worth every penny. If you can, get the full size 6090 with the frame. The extra rigidity will pay you back quickly.
On the hunt for a rigid and capable cnc router. Came across this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTE7rFIOQBs
I'm pretty sure that is not a machine that seazea made, but would appreciate if...
Thanks Mary, but Inventor / HSM needs a post-processor to work with NK105 G2 or G3 right? Do you work with Weihong?
Thanks for the feedback. Lol dharmic - very nice.
Thanks! A manufacturer just said that ballscrews don't have enough strength for cutting aluminium. Any ideas why they would say that?
awesome - thanks!
So essentially the mass of the gantry is born by the linear guides (and whatever they are attached to) and the ballscrews/R&P move it back and forth and should not be taking any...
any opinion on rack and pinion vs ballscrew? or steel vs aluminium gantry?
OK, some more questions I'm after an answer for...
How do I figure out what the max working feed rate and the torque available at that rate - based on the combination of the stepper motors,...
Hi,
We are looking at getting a CNC with a Weihong NK105G3 DSP controller. Do you have a post processor for it that might work with Inventor HSM? do you know if there is one available?
Thanks - heatsinks on the steppers! Is that an indication that a stronger stepper motor is required?
Found an example of what I orginally found - the first time I found them it was on a Korean video... I couldn't understand it - but saw the difference in precision (he was using a gauge to measure...
Fluxion,
Love your build! looks immaculate. A couple of questions from a newbie:
- how did you decide on the steppers you bought? What cutting speeds / torque will they give you?
- what...
Thanks Gents,
Let me see if I understand:
- response curve = ability to make small moves at speed with torque?
- "there is nothing the driver can do to recover. The resistance from the...
Thanks Ian - the detailed pics help explain the design that makes it effective. Appreciate it.
What feeds and speeds are you running for the aluminium jobs?
I asked one of the suppliers about closed loop steppers and they said they had experienced trouble with them and would not recommend using them. Any thoughts? I understood they offered the ability to...
Thanks! one of our mentors was able to get 6061 through Thuyssen Krupp, but we had to pay through the nose for it. From memory it was a few hundred for a smaller sheet.
speaking of anodising - do...
thanks Roger!
What are you cutting that stack on? I didn't realise it worked ok to stack sheet like that... I guess it depends on how many you need and what your spindle / machine is capable of?
Yeah - we've found exactly that problem - and we're struggling to find 6000 series AL here in Aus... cutting 5800 has been tough going (we have a mastercam but looking for something smaller as well)....
The machines look similar at this point:
JCut 6060 - http://www.jcutcnclaser.com/Pro_show.asp?Proid=197
Stepmores 6060 - ??????
JCut 6090 atc - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5grDZVmqSo -...
Hi Roger,
Appreciate the questioning and skepticism. Definitely trying to get the most bang for the buck and it seems a number of people have bought some routers that ended up being excellent. Of...
Nice - looks like it worked out ok at least on that one. What issues did you have? and what are you using now? did you have a particular brand of 6040?
Hi vivien,
Yes thank you - in contact via email
dharmic - so your base etc is all steel, but the gantry and upper bed is all cast aluminium?
