We have a 1995 VMC 15XT with a 7500rpm spindle
The machine is making a strange (squeaking, squealing) sound.
I removed the belt from the motor to the gearbox to help identify where the sound is...
Hi all,
On a SL10,
Is there a way to turn on the spindle at say 20 RPM with the chuck (5 C collet) unclamped?
I will be running some small step bushings on the backside and there isn’t much to...
The pump on a VF4 is in the head, in the right rear corner, you will have to remove the sheet metal to see it.
You will have to remove the sheet metal to replace either the coupler or the pressure...
OK my memory is not as bad as I thought
We had a similar problem on a 2005 VMC 15 XT.
Our problem was on the x axis, I don’t recall how much it was moving .
It ended up being a resolver. After...

Libbey,
If you need any more pages let me know.
I am not at work today, but I could go in
Also G68 might be an option on the Fadal I don’t know for sure
Techman,
That is what I...
It is a lot more complicated than I want to try to explain
If you PM me your e-mail I can scan and e-mail you some pages from the users manual
We use 5C collets all the time.
When we use the expanding collets this is how I install them
Close chuck (draw tube back) screw collet all the way in until it stops
Open chuck (draw tube forward)...
A service tech said that our amplifier was going out, and we are too cheap to replace an aprox $1500 card when we can just wait a few minutes and have everything work.
Here is what we do,
main power on
wait 30 seconds
press and hold green button for 5 seconds.
here is where ours gets different
we wait 5 minutes before we cold start the machine from the...

this is a dumb quick fix how about a dummy first hole that is off the part.
I know it wont fix the problem but you could be running the job.
last suggestion put a M0 before the tap so you could run...
Also our quick fix was to super glue the coupler then add heat shrink to the outside of the coupler, we ran the machine that way while waiting for the replacement part
I thought that was a familiar alarm.
I stood on the table and watched for fluid movment in the clear tubing going to the radiator there was none.
you will have to take all the covers off the...
We have a 1995 15XT and also had a growling problem, ours turned out to be the support bearing on the left side of the table. The service guy removed the bearing and the noise went away, replaced...

When ready to transfer readings from computer to Fadal
At Fadal
Thanks that helps, our book says
"The user can modify the taper at any time"

Thanks again
Erich

Thanks Ted,
I tried that (adding .0004 to the z-3. Line but the caned cycle didn’t like it)
So after some experimentation I ended up with -.00010 on the taper .
It seems backwards but it...
Hi all,
On a SL10 in the tool offsets which way does the taper value go?
We are boring about 3.00 inches deep and getting a .0004 taper smaller at z –3.00
Which way would I put the taper value?in...
Just thinking out loud,
When I move PGMs between machines FADAL and HAAS, all I do is change the machine
specific code, usually about 10 lines at most.
How about just using the MAZAK PGM on the...
thanks,
If the pin output is wrong would it do damage to the machine or computer?
I see you are not runing a G9, our machines default to G9.
try adding a G8 to the program and see if that helps.
the G8 can be on its own line I usually place it after the H call out line.
We had a similar problem.
While cutting on the X axis we were getting ripples on the finish.
We put an indicator on the Z axis and set it on the front of the part
Without manually moving the...
The problem is that the laptop has a 15pin port not a 9 pin.

Thanks

Hi Everyone,
I am thinking about using a Laptop to load programs to my machine.
Has anyone used a USB To Parallel Adapter to load programs.
This is what I have found but I don’t know if the...
If I understand your question.
Go to the LIST PROG page
Type in O####
Then hit the WRITE/ENTER key
That will start an entirely new PGM
I don’t use quick code so I hope this helps
Thinking outside the box.
Nice
Geof thanks for the reply that is what I was thinking.
OK after asking the question I started searching on line here is what I came up with.
I now realize how much typing is involved so this an...
