I've never toolpathed with aggregate heads before and I am not sure how to go about it in MasterCAM X5.
How would I set-up the head in MX5, and how would I make a toolpath with it?
Also, how...
all sorted now thanks
I need help
On our num750 controller running on a record 2 cnc router it is showing error spindle not locked.
I cant seem to be able to fix it, I have restarted it and tried mdi with no luck ...
I haven't used this myself, but a quick search retrieved me this. It should be a good starting point if you are using a later version of MasterCAM than you did before.

P.S. I can't move the job around, as I won't be able to find the exact reference point I used before I machined it off.
My machine home is at the righthand side of the picture. The yellow line is what the toolpath does, and the red line is what I want it to do.
I want it to also move around the tall bit in mid...
I'm using various strategies, 3D Surface Rough Pocket, 3D Surface Finish Contour and 3D Surface Finish Parallel and Surface Finish Pencil
I am machining a fairly complicated 3D mould and it is quite high.
I have machined the lower sections before gluing the remaining blocks on the top as my tools wouldn't be long enough to reach...
A what? Sorry
$10K Plus?! Wow...
I haven't played around with the Tplane and Cplane yet. So I might look around for some foam to practice on, that way if I accidentally crash it into the job it won't even...
Hi guys,
We recently bought a used machine for $1000 (BARGAIN) with all its tools, and we got these two tool holder things with it.

Hey all,
I have a NUM 750F controller connected to a PC running Win98SE via ethernet cable with the required adaptors to a serial port.
I'm transfering programs over COM1 at 9600bds. Data bits:...
It uses hardware, nothing was touched before it started this problem. We tried changing the cable to find the same problem. Just about to change some IC chips now, and I will keep updating.
I have a NUM 750f controller and it's connected to a PC running Windows98.
We often cut a lot of 3D things and need to drip-feed our programs as the controller does not have much memory, some of...
Hi there,
I realise my chances are quite slim but you never know...
We're currently upgrading our controller from a NUM 750 to this new CamSoft touch screen controller with a Galil PCI Card...
Hi guys, can you please look at this thread? I have a NUM 750 as well and it has just started to go haywire.

I'm 3/4 of the way through completing an extremely important job list and the controller has just started giving errors and beeping and flickering, showing random symbols at different sizes all over...
Hi there,
I've got a job that's starting to get quite confusing with which toolpath does what area, is it possible to rename a toolpath?
Thanks,
B.
Edit: I use MX4 by the way.
Thanks a lot mate! You've just saved me hours of useless machining time!
Thank you for your reply. I know how to create a containment boundary using that method, however like you said: "The tool will stay inside of that area."
What I want to do is keep the tool OUTSIDE...
When you make a containment boundary, the toolpath is set to inside that boundary or with a specified offset.
How do I make a containment boundary to EXCLUDE that section in the boundary instead...
Thanks a million!
How do I change the color of a surface in X4?
This would be a GREAT help if I knew how to do this
I have a 3-axis router and I'm needing to machine a job on a 2 degree slope. I've milled a ramp and secured the stock onto the ramp. I have a fair bit of excess material I want to get rid of first...
I'm going to be making an autobot logo out of 3mm aluminium to either rivet or weld to the fuel tank door on my car, was thinking riveting it to give the machine look, but I may not have enough room...
Hi, I have a SCM Record 2 router with only 322kb of memory, the program I'm wanting to run is 377kb, so I'm forced to drip feed this program from the pc to the controller.
I pretty much have the...
Hey all,
I'm making a jig to mount a metal plate inside a lift fan for a hovercraft. The plate has to be perfectly cocentric inside the fan to eliminate wobbles and inbalance. I'm cutting it using...
