I would do iut the other way, I would rough cut with a bandsaw then put it on the cnc to get it the way i want it. This way you have screw tabs on the item being cut and not use tape.
One suggestion, Where you have the Hollowed out portion toward top, I would contour that as well instead of hollowing. Making it thinner toward the top will enhance playability. Mohagany by nature is...

Agreed on the glueing for sure, but if fastened with screws it should be more then stiff enough to handle anything that gets cut.
if you notice on the gantry Ahren, it appears he has angle iron on the uprights. I think stiffness would be at premium with that set up.

I would think there would be to many gaps in the T to use t nuts but then again, who knows is people that build them already , Mine is comming soon.
