This must be fixed mechancically. It's the toughest part of the build getting all axis square and plumb.
From my experiance run out will cause an inside cut being oversize, as the cutter will cut larger than 1/4". I would check backlash. I made a quick reducer for running 1/8" bits in 1/4" collet and...
[QUOTE=bkboggy;569076]Makes sense.
Hey, I'm confused on the aluminum angles required for the tracks. Manual says: 1-1/4"x1-1/4"x1/8" Aluminum When I went to the store they looked at me like...
1. In a perfect world you would want 195k, so the closer you can get the more amps available to the motors.
2. The motor, the drives will only pass 7amps (the more amp run thru the drive the more...
Good luck, well built machine.
As long as your air valve does not leak, you don't worry about pressure, it's volume and how fast you apply it. Applying large volume @ 100psi will fill the table faster than a small volume at...
It takes less pressure than you would think, at a past employer, when our lead maintenance man put the air to their first 10' x 20' water table, he was hit with a mini tidal wave about 8" deep....
Do some research and you can save some money, for my plasma I saved money by buying the c1g bob and cb-ac from cnc4pc at $50-60 total. Figure out the functions you want to control. My router draws 9...
I bought cnc4pc's, designed for gecko's (I think about $10-$15 less than the other boards.) as they have opto-iso built in. Makes wiring a snap. I run two machines with gecko's.
Wes, thanks for the link, it makes me feel warm and fuzzy to know I am dealing with a very customer oriented company. (Gecko)
I have a cnc4pc break out board, so I'm not sure if there is a resistor involved or not. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Good luck with your project.
Use pin 10 and take it back to common, use normally closed switches and hook in series.
Set TCNC to active high, if a switch opens pin 10 to common is lost, stopping the machine.
Yes, unless you repeatedly bend it back and forth, your material will be no worse for wear. Good luck with your project.
98 would be my count (guess)
Good work Nice machine
As someone who repeatedly forgets to slide the heatshrink tube on to the wire prior to soldering, this type of craftmanship is really appreciated.
You may be able to freeze some sort of base into the block and hold it down that way, ice won't stick to the plastic, they cover the front of snow plows with VHMW to keep snow and ice from sticking.
You could feed the stock against a stop and use rack and pinion, just run a piece of flat along the axis and use a disc brake caliper as a clamp on brake. Whitney used it on a heavy gage for a large...
Sounds like you will take all the fun out, but I would buy a "cheap drive" in a heartbeat. I have a project waiting on them.
I have been reading all I can find about wiring and looking at a few wiring diagrams, can anyone tell me what are the capacitors on the motor power circuits for?
Now that I found the answer a...
I don't know how to answer, I've ran, programmed, and taken products from design to finished product many times, I currently work as a process engineer for a truck equipment mfg co.
One project I...
I can assume this is what the spec sheet refers to as 1 or 2 on?
I added the 12v light bulb as suggested to the 12v side and a resistor w/heatsink on 5v side and hooked ps together :) ,24.2v.
Working on enclosure to insulate ps wo/case ground and start search...
I can't find complete info on the slo-syn motors I have coming. The model is MO9-FC-409.
What I can find is:
M09 = 90 MM frame
2 = 300 in-oz
FC = 3% Accuracy
409? I believe 09 maybe...
I had to work in weather like that when we moved my son home from Phoenix Az.
I dove in the pool about every 1/2 hour or so, otherwise I think I would have died. I don't envy you one bit sir.
I thought of that and searched my messy garage for a couple, but 17 degrees outside and a 98 cent resistor seemed pretty cheap, and as a newbie it most likely won't be the last thing I fry.

Great write up, thanks a bunch. 23.8v 10a, one supply gave me fits as no matter how I wired it up, I could only get it up to 7.8v. Doing some research on the web I found beside a load on the 5v, I...
Found the link. Thanks for the info, I'd like to get the best drives I can afford and upgrade the rest later.
I am adding three axis cnc to a unimat mini lathe and have 2 pc power supplies ranging from 12v1.5a to 12v7.5a or 5v10a to 5v20a.
This being a small machine stepper motors should be dirt cheap, my...
