This is a 10 hp, 40 amp drive. I doubt there are many economical 10 HP VFDs that run on single phase at maximum motor load. If you do not have encoder feedback, about any VFD will work. I do not...

This is a 10 hp, 40 amp drive. I doubt there are many economical 10 HP VFDs that run on single phase at maximum motor load. If you do not have encoder feedback, about any VFD will work. I do not...
This Yaskawa VFD is using feedback from the motor (Yaskawa motor/encoder). This provides more accurate speed control, for threading etc. This VFD will run fine on single phase for lower motor loads....
What is your existing spindle drive's model number? It might be OK or Not to run it with single phase.

If your monitor is blank and machine works OK (you can move the axis, blind) then likely the monitor is the problem. We make LCD replacements for Okuma 500, 5000, 5020 etc. Contact me at...
Likely this is is a software overtravel, possibly due to loss of battery memory. Consult your operator manual to reset the stroke limits. My advice on this is general, I have no specific experience...
Generally, rebuilding the top board will fix 15 alarm problems, assuming you can measure 3 phase 208 on TOP of the main circuit breaker and all the fuses are OK. Rebuilding the top board also fixes...
Machine - Okuma MX-45VAE
Problem - When running the spindle at or more than 1148 rpm (high gear) and M05 command is given to stop the spindle, an alarm 4053 or 1051 will...
Hi:
We have rebuilt Okuma VAC3 D11 spindle drive available for exchange. 1 year warranty.
Jim
Speed deviation alarm and the motor turns slowly for a second or two indicates a defective spindle drive. Most likely, The motor is being single phased by the drive. Drive needs to be rebuilt.
When you get the 78 alarm at start-up, what is showing on the drive display?
RE: hi, i have a VAC 3 D11, having some issues & not sure if they are related, The 2 fuses at the bottom of the drive unit are blowing when the power is turned on, the manual has zero info on what...
Tool change sequence is like a long chain or ladder. Any link missing and the process hangs. So the head goes up, then a sensor or position monitor note head is in position, then the next step...
Often when a motor driven by a servo or spindle drive lacks torque, the problem is the drive is missing 1/2 a phase going to the motor. Disconnect the spindle motor UVW wires from the drive, command...
Hi:
Assuming the axis drives are proved OK on a different machine/axis, and the mechanical ball screw & slide are OK (lubed, not binding etc.), then the problem is the motor's rotor magnets are...
When you post requests for help, I expect a decent level of competency on your part. Look inside the electronics cabinet, identify the spindle drive and note the part number and what alarm is...
Generally, it is better for the inverter to be sized or programmed for less output than the motor is capable of, this will help keep the spindle motor from overheating. The drive will protect...
Assuming you have the 'up to speed' relay output on the drive correctly connected to the Tree CNC, then when exactly do you get the UTS alarm? At any commanded speed?, on acceleration up to speed? ...
What is mfg and part number of your spindle drive?
Okuma BL2D, BLIID drives can sometimes be repaired by replacing capacitors. Follow the pdf link to help determine if the BL2D drive, motor/encoder or SVP board is the problem. The pdf link also...
This VAC3 D11 drive is toast. When these components arc flash, they damage the components on the top board (you can see the carbon flash on the bottom of the top board). The board components are...
I want to ask: What is DA?
DA is an imaginary voltage that represents the error between the calculated and actual positions. If you swapped the SVP board and the EXACT alarm persists, then...
To enable an Okuma 5000 or 5020 with a BL-D or BDU drive removed, jump pins 13,14 & 10 on CN1 (connector that goes to the circuit board) together to mask any alarm. Then jump 19 & 20 on CN10 (goes...
I think it is not practical to modify a OKUMA DC-S1A for 180VDC output. Normally this Okuma power supply has 3 phase 200VAC input and 300-400VDC output. There is a 100V contactor inside that has to...
This is an alarm on the za (lathe) axis, complaining about the data coming from the za encoder. Most likely the SVP board or the encoder is bad. Swap them one at a time with known good units. If...
The Fanuc analog spindle drives (that use A20B-0009-053x & similar control cards) have two pots that calibrate the incoming encoder signals for 50% duty cycle of the sine waves. If these signals...
This is a DIFF over alarm. The axis encoder is not where the CNC wants it to be (difference between calculated and actual position). In the case of this alarm, probably the axis board in the cnc's...
