On the MachSupport forum there is a posting by Dougsshed that is pretty negative about Pacific Tooling.
Cool thank you for the info. Veteran here also 70-72.
Eric, are you creating your art? What are you using to create the art?
Need more information, like which poly-v pulley?
Love it! Great work!
The parts deviate "a bit" well that seems measurable.
When you move the x-axis and the y-axis in one direction and then back to the starting point, you can compensate in Mach3 for that.
If you have...
I would try it again and if you see the same problem then I would suspect that your step setting for the x and or y are not correct.
Have you tried routing out a circular path?
Gerry, some helpful hints might help.
Can Aspire be used to create this sign and then Krissy can take the G-Code and cut out the sign?
Or would you recommend a two operation task, where the...
Eric, nice work!
What sort of a mister are you using and which coolant.
Thanks,
Paul
I got my belt-drive kit for my MD001 from Dave. He does excellent work and I would highly recommend him!

You can measure the output voltage of a VFD. It may not be accurate depending on how you measure it, but right now you don't know if the VFD is outputting any voltage.
So, if you knew the VFD was...
Have you measured the output voltage of the VFD. Is this single phase 220 or 120 for the input?
It might help to have a data sheet for this device.
However, it seems based on what you mentioned about < 10 amps that there is an inline shunt.
So, I believe you would wire it like this: Neg...
Kelly, thank you for the software information and your mechanical drawings. I'm still on hold waiting for my belt drive kit from ArizonaVideo (Dave). Of course I haven't welded up the stand for the...
Meg and HP couldn't work their way out of a wet paper bag. HP has no idea what it wants to be.
Kelly, what software are using for the engraving. I would like to engrave some belt buckles that I am making.
Awesome build.
My MD001 is sitting on the pallet awaiting the belt changer kit...
Here is what the seller claims: Hypertherm Powermax 1000 plasma cutter, was bought new in 2007 and was lightly used from that time but recently developed a problem, it begins to cut well for a while...
Stan, did Pat send you any information regarding how your system was shipped.
I only received an email after entering several trouble tickets indicating that my MD001 was shipped on Monday.

Hopefully you've learned not to buy stuff with out any specifications. You can't use a single resistor, each switch must have it's own resistor that way they can trip individually.
Bushwakka...I...
How do you have the switches wired? Do you have the instruction with the switch or a data sheet?
Stan, I am also waiting for my MD001.
So far Pat has only asked if I wanted a separate 3 phase motor since the factory did not properly configure my machine.
I am presently looking for some...
The clicking sound is not normal. Sounds like not enough balls and a lack of grease. I would return the z-axis to CNCfusion.
How does it feel and sound when you turn the ballnut by hand?
Welcome back Eric...it is great to see you back at it again. Your projects are always fascinating. I can already see clones of your Maxi project appearing.
|eric| I'm in the same boat, trying to justify $15K for a CNC Mill. I've looked at the Torus Pro, but am concerned about the limited Z especially when you add a tool changer and a large vise, I do...
This is clear as mud. So the Pulsar is a step up from the 145?

Hey Leo, I'm also in Round Rock. Welcome to the forum.
I have a CNCed X3 and just ordered an MTW MD001. I also have a Jet JMD18 mill.
I was so close to ordering a Novakon Torus Pro, but was...
Austin,
What part of TX are you in, I'm in Round Rock outside of Austin.
What did you save on shipping to the freight terminal versus the home delivery?
Thanks,
Paul
This person has been advertising on Home Shop Machinist for a long time. Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but give it a shot.
