I have an issue with getting the 2020 drives to pass more than 1000pps of encoder counts through to the tuning software. The motors stabilize and tune well but if the move calls for anything over a...
I have successfully "digitized" 3 parts and this is SO COOL! It really spits out the G-code! A 42" oval part with notches burned up about 300 lines of code! I can even reverse G-code it and get a DXF...
The recording portion is amazing! Now I just need to play with it and find out what all affects the recording process, such as speed, 2-axis jogs, etc. Do you know if it matters where I clink on the...
Well, if I can get J-code to record jogs (I thought that was the J in J-code) I can get the encoders to do the jogs as two MPGs. So far, I can't get the J-code plugin to record jogs at all. It shows...
Thanks, Gerry! Don't know how I overlooked that! Hope it has some ability to pick the sample rate or points. I'll try it this afternoon.
Al, the input from the encoders is all there is; no loop...
I failed to mention that you need to turn the THC box on in the run screen so it doesn't move until the Hypertherm says the arc has transferred. I made that omission when I first set it up.
Use pin 12 and 14 from the back of the Hypertherm to turn on THC On input in the pin config table.
Looks to me like the process is waiting for the Z axis to make a short move. How fast is your Z motion? I assume you don't use any "prove-arc" command from the plasma power source as a motion...
I have hooked up a pair of encoders to my table that will show the outline of a part as I manually move the torch around the part in the toolpath screen of Mach3. So far, so good. Now I want to save...
I cannot believe how much time I have saved since I switched to SheetCam! I now can program for all the Burnys, Mach3s, Fanucs and Mazacs with one program on my laptop! Wow! My question is what are...
I enabled safety on input #1 in general configs and now when I input to (in my case) pin 12 I get a hold with the torch still enabled. That's what I wanted. Too bad it has a small delay in it....
I get the responses I want from the keystrokes. I just can't get the dang 'alt-R' to resume the operation. I have tried three different software packages and each one has a quirk or omission that...
I have to use the 'space' and 'alt-R' hotkeys to make the machine wait for my outboard THC to do its thing. In the port and pin setup all seems right. The diagnostic screen shows the input #1 and #2...
I would go with the Lincoln PrecisionTig 225. Around 2 grand and you get everything you need. Very easy to use and has pulse.
Black is positive+ and red is negative-, just backwards of what you would think.
Yeah, it's me again! I have the plasma running quite well, actually, until I hit an ellipse in the shape I am cutting. Lots of small, jerky steps. I tried putting G64 in the first line without a P-...
Don't look at the output to the drives for any indication of a problem. Stay with the latency issue as tested in terminal. The descriptions on fixing SMI latency problems are a little sketchy, as are...
I can't believe how simple that was! Where in any documentation does it tell you that you HAVE to put in an "S"? How many other little pesks like this are in EMC that aren't in the other control...
I ran through all the HAL settings and the machine configs and found all to seem right. However, I did notice that the toggle on the manual screen for spindle turns to a lighter gray when I run in...
I have finally beaten back all the beasts in Ubuntu and Emc2 and got my machine running. Two issues, one minor. I can turn spindle(torch) on and of with the f keys and the manual toggle but M3 will...
The stand-alone torch-height control I use has outputs for arc-established and pierce-delay. It needs to do its thing before the programmed cut begins. Both of my Burny units have this built-in but I...
Hi, all! I need to interrupt the program with a hard-contact input that does not require a keystroke to continue. I am using QuikStep4 on a INX Pentium2, Win 98. I have looked at a few other programs...
If you are still working on this, I have hundreds of welder service manuals, including one for your machine. I just found this forum or I would have mentioned it sooner. Let me know if you need a...
I have built a beast running G-code with QuikStep that now requires an external interrupt (or something) to allow a torch positioner to complete its tasks before the program continues. The normal...
