For milling and modeling, NX cannot be beat. Esprit was miles ahead in lathe and wire machine and milling was very good. NX continues it's downward spiral of changes.

Are you programming the control or offline? Also EIA or conversational?
I know nothing about conversational but can help with EIA.
Todd
If the breaker has 30 amp stamped on it you have 60 amps total, 30 per side. depending on the phase converter it should be just fine.

(wish there was an easy way to share these with others!)
PM me with an email address and I'll send you 2 pictures...one inside the cabinet where the "manufactured voltage" line goes and the wiring diagram.
Todd
Make sure cabinet doors are closed or at least the switches are or else it won't come on. The incoming 220V line should go on the middle connection.

Greetings-
The home position is in the "setup" menu. Hit next page and enter where you want it to be. This is using machine values, not program zero. On my J425 the machine travel is X30 Y18 (I...
Regardless of format (conversational or G-code) I think the you will fault out when it reads the "D" offset. On Fanuc you can pull any register value, not on dynapath. So delete that from your post!...
Greetings-
I posted an EIA example for you in the other forum.

I cannot advise on conversational, but see below.

Trouble shooting is basically the elimination of variables and underthewire had the best idea of swapping the motors (along with pully) which is what I would do. If the problem switches...
If you feel pretty good about the 25.5586" and the 22.1586" measurements, that gives them a pretty good place to start (you could e-mail them the link to this thread).
Where are you located? If in Indiana I can stop by and help, otherwise gages or standards and an indicator are going to be most helpful, and the longer the distance checked the better.
Todd
Okay, checking something that was actually 25.5586" long you lost 3.400" on the readout, so 22.1586*1.153439297=25.5586. With that number, on the control cutting 3.0 should be actually 3.4603. I'm...
That is alot of error! I've not seen pitch error compensation in the control yet, though I've used this machine very little (I've been programming them for many years, just recently bought one since...

From the manual the set-up procedure for MSI Servo Drives:
With one lead of a digital ohm meter on TP2-1 and the other lead on: (NOTE: J1 plugs must be disconnected.)
TP1-2, adjust...
Delete the D01. Dynapath doesn't use this callout.
Todd
Well, it has been a few days. Is it resolved? Have you tried a null cable yet? I really hate to see unresolved issues! Let us know how it is going. From what I've read you need to try null. Also,...
Greetings-
I'm using a 9-25 Null cable. Well, I'm in Indiana, thus, too far for me to drive to help!
Todd
Where are you located? If you are close, I'll be happy to try to help.
Todd
Agreed, trying to fix the problem is what I would try to do, the service tech said smacking the control works for him. Mine hasn't done that yet so I've not been able to try the adjustment method...
Common problem. Most people just smack the left side of the control pretty hard. They have been doing that to the one here for 14 years!
Todd
Greetings Fighter-
I need to find a place to host photos and I'll upload one to show what I'm talking about regarding how comp acts on this control. I have not had to helical mill on the Dynapath...
Cutter comp is different on different controls. I almost always offset the tool path & use comp for adjustment only. If I'm thread milling I program online to geometry and comp for the tool size. An...
Greetings Rick-
Looks like the problem is on line 28 (D0).
Lets cut a 2.000 X 3.000 block with a .250 radius on each corner using a 3/8" EM.
X0Y0 is C/L of block, Z0 is top of block
3.000 is...
Greetings Rick-
A slightly altered fanuc post will work (though there are a few stupid things).
For arc center the vector is absolute arc center.
Since the editor in the control is event driven,...
My battery is AA size located in the cabinet on the side of the mill, however, I have a 1993 J425.
Todd
What does the control do when you turn it on? I'm assuming you powered up the machine first, then the control. Exactly what you do and what does/does not happen is helpful to get you up and going....
