My versalaser is an enclosed unit and so far only tried it with the coated boards the quality of the finish was fantastic, the final etched boards were not so good but was just my etching skills.

I've never known a fuse for anything be fitted to the negative side. Think of a mains plug where is there fues for that?

The cart filtration system on the versalasers is only if you want to run it in an eclosed environment i.e a classroom so I see no problem with hooking a hose and getting it to the outside.

I've engraved several glasses on a versalaser vl-200 with rotary attachment and acheived some excellent results.
This was no more difficult on my machine to engraving acrylic.
