the mills i have been using are 3 flutes and they have a hollow point in the middle. which i think is the reason why i cant plunge but only spiral cut it
what ever i try this bit wont plunge in, some of my routings are 2.5 so i cant do spiral.
i found out down your thread that 1 flute is the best way to cut aluminum.
should have thought this...

But i am planning on drilling and tapping on each end.
But id like to thank everyone, those info had really made me...
if i wont be able to cut it with cold so i might use the cutoff saw on the shop and just finish it in the lathe, as i dont think we have a parting tool there.
but i do hope its only case hardened....
