What tool size? insert type? are you useing coolant? This is a face mill correct?
Just buy a lathe the tormach is not a lathe. You are going to hurt that machine.
You have a good point but even just a glimps would be something but I do agree if tormach donates anything they should think more of the loaner and if they don't get any publicity then repo time.
If you want I can do it for you I use UGNX6
This is a great thing for Tormach. I am very happy that this is happening. I hope that they use the full machine with the lathe and fourth. Where is this being filmed?
I would say stop posting this it is like a cry out for help. Just post a for sale add and do us all a favor and put the price on it.
I am almost done with a project of a 4th axis for my tormach. The reason I built my own is I need a super solid 4th for my parts. I started with a super indexer 6" and the tormach 8" kits motor....
Yeah it was in the right place I dont know why it blew but tormach being the great company that it is gave me a replacement and were very helpfull. When it gets here I will repost the results.
That is just rough cut right?
Why would this blow? I was running a part had the spindle working pretty hard lucky enough that I was on a rough cut so my part is still good when it just blew? What causes this? It is still under...
Yeah Bobcad still shuts down when I am in the middle of useing it but I will be at IMTS and will let everyone know all about it.
I am planning on buying one after they release it I did call them and was told they still had a few things to work out then it will be released. I hate waiting but they are worth it.
I have looked in yahoo groups and am now looking here for someone who has this upgrade to ask how they like it?
Casting is interesting but why didnt you just machine that part out?
Where can I buy one? prefer something solid no sissor jacks they lean too much.
It looks great. Good job.
Does anyone here have this yet? How do you like it? Is there enough difference worth making the change? Can it rigid tap? Any info would be great.
Ther is a chemical made just for your problem. Try another type of coolant. I use syncool and have no problems at all and my machine may sit for days before I get back to run it.
First of all is the machine level? Second do you mean that when moving the table from one end to the other end you are getting .002?
go to Napa and ask for the red grease I believe it is called #3 they will know exactly what you are looking for it is red grease that works great and can take just about anything. Check to make sure...
Whats the price?
Nothing is free anyone who comes to you wanting cheap prices or freebees for prototype work is not worth the time. All I do is prototype work and let me tell you it is very expensive and time...
Ok touchy subject 3d scanners I went to a rapid prototype show a few months ago and there I have seen many of these some could go as far as 2 microns but some are cheap if you are going to get one I...
With tooling you get what you pay for and only use what is needed for the particular job. There are some cheaper companies out there that are ok. I have bought off ebay many times for jobs that dont...
All of this depends on how you are holding the part.
Spring cut is a finish pass the cutter has some push from the sides to hold real numbers you can do several spring passes but you are only looking to hold .001 that is a loose number. Example= On our...
Sometimes you just can not beat a lathe. I think a boring bar would take even longer simply because of the fine feed you will need to keep from chattering.
You will love the Machine.
I am not sure that is a large enough system for the 9x20 I am in the middle of converting a 9x20 to cnc right now. What size servos or steppers do you have?
