Re: Looking for ultimax 3 install discs

    Hi Jeremy.
maybe talk with mike at midwest CNC?
    http://www.midwestcnc.com/index.html>
I have no connection to these folks, but they have gotten me out a pinch.
    Nice guys to deal with.
  2. Re: Retrofitting- MAHO MC600 with CSMIO/IP-A help

Does the Y axis have hydraulic counter balance? If yes, check that it's working correctly.
  4. Re: Retrofitting- MAHO MC600 with CSMIO/IP-A help

Still think if you look at the machine electrical drawings it would be more evident what is needed.
Did you apply the the high voltage AFTER all the low voltage and enabling signals.
    Another issue...
  5. Re: encoder feedback to drive vs feedback to drive and control

    Hello Larry.
Your comment about glass scales and backlash is correct.
However there is usually a limit to the amount of backlash that can exist, and still have the system work.
    Usually a very...
  6. Re: Retrofitting- MAHO MC600 with CSMIO/IP-A help

do you have the electrical wiring drawings for this machine?
it would help a lot to figure out what you need to bridge out and what power you need to supply to run the servo drive / motors.
  7. Re: encoder feedback to drive vs feedback to drive and control

I would look at linux for sure.
It's very cost effective -> read free.
However consider a very good value for money add in card from Mesa or Pico.
  8. Re: encoder feedback to drive vs feedback to drive and control

Definitely close the loop to the control is preferable.
For all the reasons that Al has stated, plus the greater tunablity and troubleshooting.
I have been servicing industrial grade CNC machines...

not sure about the drive from the picture.
look at the drives along the bottom, where the motor wires are connected.
    behind the top board.
there might be some circuit breakers to the left and to...
