  4. Re: anyone devised a hi/low range tool for the 770?

I use a 3/4" wrench to loosen the bolt that holds the motor, then swing it forward. Stick the wrench in there and move the belt up/down. Once it sorta bites, push the motor back with the right hand,...

Re: Whats going on with the TORMACH warehouse?

I visited the Tormach HQ last week. The place is packed with new people. Every available area is now cubicles and offices. They are super busy.

Re: Whats going on with the TORMACH warehouse?

I was told that they are outsourcing shipping to a 3rd party fulfillment service.

Unlike you guys, they messed up in the other direction with me. They shipped me my order twice :/

    Re: USB I/O Interface Board

I have been looking for it as well. If you find it let me know. The IO kit works great on the 1100 with pathpilot. I still want to try it on the 770 with mach3. Got it running pneumatic cylinders.

    [RFQ] 200pcs 1"x1.75" 6061 aluminum

I have an aluminum standoff part I need made. I do not own a lathe, so I would rather farm it out to someone who knows what they are doing.

    Re: Aluminum Chip Welding

Use wd40, it has helped a lot for when I get chip weld. It lubricates the tools and stops the aluminum from sticking to the tool.

  14. The 770 PDB is ****. How do I make it better?

I really hate the power drawbar on the 770. It has been **** and nothing but trouble. I've broken hundreds of dollars of carbide because of it.

All the gcode and programs I write in Sprut7 simply...

    RFQ short steel parts

I need a few adapters made. It's for attaching a 3/8" power drill to a 1/2" drive shaft on a tool.

I need 50 pieces made (+-10). See pdf for details.
  17. Re: Any way to get more torque out of the 770 spindle motor at low RPMs?

I'll give it a try, but there is a bit of variation in the inner diameter from part to part. Also there are a bunch of different diameters to deal with, it's not just one size.

  21. Re: Any way to get more torque out of the 770 spindle motor at low RPMs?

What kind of pulley does the 770 use, do you know? Where can I get other sizes?

I'm slitting them lengthwise. I can give it a shot, but I'm not sure how well trochoidal milling will work out.
  22. Re: Any way to get more torque out of the 770 spindle motor at low RPMs?

Well, I already have the blades, so this is what I'm using. I'm not buying anything else right now.

  23. Any way to get more torque out of the 770 spindle motor at low RPMs?

I need to use a 140 tooth, 1.5" OD, .078" slitting saw to cut a whole bunch of thin wall (0.05-0.08") stainless and titanium. Ideal calculated rpm is 120 or so, and feed of 4.5ipm. So far I've tried...

Re: mill keeps stalling, no clue why

Use WD40 on the cut instead of coolant. It lubricates the blade so the chips don't stick to it.

This was happening to me too. You need to use lots of WD40 on the cut. Coolant wont work.

Re: Tormach Controller shuts off randomly

This happened to me a few weeks ago. The only thing I did was to replace the RAM sticks with new ones from Microcenter. It fixed it. No more random shutdowns.
