i guess i worded it wrong...i do know chipload and feedrates for different materials ...i just meant that i was having to use a crazy high feedrate in the cam to get the a xis to move along.. it was...
it was definitely a stupid on my part...
i checked the box for use radius as feedrate in the toolpath section
use rotations was already cheacked
and in general config i uncheckled 360...
im using inventor hsm...
i was able to figure out how to configure the post processor so that i have my 4th axis mounted on the left side of the table facing the x- direction.. so the A is turning...
Thanks for the reply I do appreciate it.
I was considering the tool you suggested I just don't know enough to confidently buy it.. But u do like your suggestion better..

well after talking with art..he has decided that there is something wring with the analog port... and his advice was to add a spindle card...which is stupid because i paid

i was going to do the arduino for the touchplate but decided to stick with a NC toolheight setter even though i was advised not because of the extra travek of the NC tool setter... so i used a height...

i looked at the different diagrams for wiring touchprobes and finally found a post somewhere that explained the problem in a way thst i understood it enough to ...
i was trying to work on a project when it started acting up... the problem is that when the touchprobe is in the spindle the signal somehow gets scrwed up by being in contact with the spindle...if i...
i thought maybe the ensor may be the weak link too... so i ordered a couple ...are the wires easy to figure out... black-ground...... red 5v......white or blue signal
i thought the same and tried both ways ...the index card itself may be part of the problem...maybe its just one of those ...IT DOESNT NEED TO BE THAT COMPLICATED DEALS... another member posted his...
ok, im going to try a wider slot.. i think your right because the more i widen the slot the higher i get a steady rpm readiing... its looking like its going to be half the diameter of the disc...
Thanks for the clarification Mike.. I will probly try your way as soon as I can figure out why the 10vanalog output is no longer putting out voltage.. I'm super passed off right now
im using MSM.... i was tring to delete the linearity files...so i went into the mymsm template and deleted the curve1.dat...curve2.dat...3,4,5 and the linearity.dat files.....would that cause the...
Not sure what happened but.. Now I'm not getting any voltage from the 10v analog output.. Ahhjhhhhhhh
thanks for the response mike....my indexing ring has basically 1 hole in it... in the form of a slot 16mm side at the outer edge.. so am i undrstanding you correctly...your not using a c3 index...
i found the formula for figuring out the slot widths ... buut its for setting up indexing on a lathe... im not sure if that will work on a mill setup...does any one know
im not sure about that...my kernel is set to 35000.... i read somewhere that in order for the rpm to read right ...that the kernel speed had to be set to 25000 do you know about that by chance... im ...
thankx for the response kenny...... i have the debounce set at 1 and have tried 0.... the lower i went the higher the rpm it could read but right now 2500 or so is highest it can read without going...
hello again guys ... i got the ring made...and took a guess with the width of the slot... any body have any advice...maybe if you have the same kinda setup..the problem is that above 800 rpm or so,...
Woo-hoo... I got one.. I forgot to mention that turning the backlash comp setting down will help... The backlash comp and shuttle accel setting seemed to be inversely proportional.. Glad you got it...
im looking for a document or the info that has some recommendations and formulas for figuring the diameter and width of the slot for an indexing for the index card ... im making a ring for indexing...
i was having the exact same problem...ir it looks the same

if your using backlash compensation... look in config/general config at the shuttle accel...
i agree the rj45s make it hella confusing for me because theres no way to see which pin the contacts are assigned to..i know that now LOL
thanks for the effort 9
i went with c62 and added a parallel port..i though i got lucky with the parallel card but inputs 2-9 arent working...but ihave enough inputs and outputs to last me a...
i have the stuff to make t he circuit,,,but since both my probe and tool setter are NC i didnt make the circuit...i was thinking of going to a NO for the toolsetter for maybe more accuracy but 2...
