OK DIYers. I have a zdrive off an old gerber sabre that is very heavy duty and actually a very well built z drive. I am currently building my own CNC from scratch and without plans, along with a...
Just wanted to let you know what i believe is the final fix for my issue with the UC100 losing contact. I duct taped the USB mini to the UC100 and two projects have been completed without losing...
I have such a small machine (11x14 workable bed) that if i used a reference mark, my projects would even be smaller.
That is such a broad statement and surely not one i would know how to track down. I know i rebuilt every nut and bolt on this small machine. I used shielded wiring, soldered all my connections, etc....
Question - does anyone use a UC100 with UCCNC? For some reason while running a file i will all of a sudden loss contact with the UC100 which in turns causes me to loss zero and it is a pain trying...
CosmicGlenn - had to chuckle as i read this thread because you have so hit the nail on the head. It is so much fun, yet so frustrating at the same time. I to started off with the 800/900 dollar model...
I somewhat agree with you, because i would say you would be wanting a bigger stronger machine within a couple of weeks once the build was done. What i do like is how it gives you a step by step...
Got this in an email today. Looks kind of interesting even though im sure there is lots more information on this forum alone than what will be covered in the class. Looks like they had a previous...
Hello lockpickingfool. Welcome to the forum. This portion is mainly to say hi to everyone and to introduce yourself. I would recommend that you go to the specific forum and post your question there...
If you have place that rents skid steers they may have a concrete bucket that can be rented also. A wheeled skid steer and a concrete bucket (i think they hold 3/4 to a yard) with a spout can make...
I wouldn't build a gantry out of wood/mdf, but if I were to I would use proven joiner technics, like a sliding dovetail or a mortise and tenon plus a high grade glue. Butting two pieces of wood...
ER11 collets can handle up to 1/4 inch shanks (this is what i have)
ER16 collets i think handle up to 13/32 inch shanks
Definitely looks like the same spindle CNC 65mm ER11 1 5KW Water Cooled Motor Spindle and Drive Inverter VFD | eBay and here is the bracket i bought (i did mill the side tabs off and drilled it from...
@stompjrkz400 - have you got that cnc up and running yet?
I am curious, have either of you all been able to connect it to your controller so you can use software to turning the A131 on and off, controlling speed, etc?
Here is a post that mactec54 was helping me on when I was connecting my A131 up. http://www.cnczone.com/forums/spindles-vfd/160047-look-inside-chinese-3-0kw-water-cooled.html
http://http://www.cnczone.com/forums/chinese-machines/257376-cnc-software.html having reworked a 3040 which is shown in the above link, I can not speak highly enough of the 1.5 water cooled spindle....
My 3040 came with 8mm shafts. You can buy couplers though that are sized 6.35x8mm if you don't have the ability to turn down the shafts to 6.35mm.
Just got home and checked my version. It is 1.1027
Looks so much better.311556
A whole lot of improvement. 311552311554
Well i may have got this figured out. In the UCCNC controller software was a setting for linear error, which i reduced from .03 to .005. I have already started a new run and i can already see the...
Well i have currently set up a new run to see what happens. I have changed the pp provided by The Engine Guy, and i also changed the linear and corner errors to .005 (little higher than suggested by...
Well here is the bbcd file. I did not change the tolerance yet as described earlier in the thread. Also added my latest gcode file, just in case.
SO what would you suggest? Reducing the Linear error max to .01 ? Is that the only variable that you would suggest i change?
Here is a screenshot of my general settings. I have not adjusted the CV. 311350
Well i changed it, reran the toolpaths, then looked at the code. No difference in the vcarve portion of the code. The are differences once i move into the roughing portion but as i said no changes in...
@The Engine Guy
Loaded the gcode below and it looked good in my uccnc controller. I did not run it at it was outside of my envelope. I set my to run only in the y- and the x+, just a preference...
I must have a different version than you, mine is v24 and in my system settings i only have a tolerance box with "system" and "chain select" and they are set at .0001 and .0010 respectively.
Well Trotline i know this is any older thread, but after seeing your videos i had to give this a try. Im still new to cnc so your videos were great to watch. Mine didnt turn out as well. I still need...
