Hi,
On power up this morning, my Fanuc 0T control does not complete its power up procecess.
The CRT monitor shows: 0615-11 in very large characters in the middle of its screen and below that...
I would say sure, all the time, its how they work.
For instance looking at one side of an H-bridge, there are two switching transistors in series across the full bus voltage. When the top...
Al,
Thanks for the suggestions!
My transistors might be a little beefier than the MJ11032's you mention. My Power Supply buss is +170VDC and the MJ11032 seem to be rated for only 120Vce.
But...
Hi All,
Have a WestAmp Servo Board that has two dead H-Bridge output transistors (top and bottom on the same side). They gave up the ghost in the middle of an urgent job I must finish quickly.

Thanks for the tip, I did find their website. Its www.filterelement.com. I will call them but I am not hopeful. Their water removal page says 'removes a small amount of water from oil". I'm thinking...
We have oil skimmers that remove unwanted oil from our water based coolant sumps. But, thanks to a clueless employee I now have the opposite problem.
Our Tsugami Swiss Lathe holds 45 gallons of...
The 0T and 0M (lathe vrs. Mill) probably have different parameters and numbers of offsets. I don't think you can make that connection.
However on my 0T-B parameter #906 bit #3 enables 64 offset...
I would not use incandescent lamps as resistors!
The resistance increases rather substantially the hotter/brighter the bulb gets. The effect is so strong, people have used them as sources/sinks of...
GSimple looks very impressive!
Does it have the ability to import an existing (manually written) G-Code file?
I've got tons of small simple parts in hand written g-code that I'd like to get...
What kind of vacuum hold down are you using? We've been screwing around with different methods and aren't happy with what we've got yet.
John
Anyone with any comments about this?..... I'd like to add tach feedback to a 320 for a particular application I have.
?????
If your plans change and you'd be interested in South Eastern Pennsylvania let me know. We are looking for someone exactly like you.
John
Works fine, we do it all the time. A large stiff putty knife works good to peel it off without bending. We usually stick the parts to sheet plastic or shellaced mdf.
be careful, coolant spray and...
My machine is a Swiss Slant twin spindle Screw machine. There is no possibility of putting a chuck on it. Its spindles are equipped with TF-37 collets.
John
YES, It sounds exactly like my machine. I cannot see however, how the power up sequence could have changed though. Both controls are powered by the same exact switches.
Yep, its still broke.
I...
Tsugami/Azuma/Methods SST-32X Serial #106, early '90s.

PS: All three company names appear on the machine and documentation at various places.
Has anyone used ACE converter 3.2 and had good results?
I may be doing something stupid or the new version might have a bug.
I just converted a dxf profile that had both clockwise and...
After they're done at your shop, send them to ours... we've got some furniture moving to do as well.
Actually I don't think a shop should be without a set of machine moving dollies (roller...
Shouldn't there be some sort of index pulse from the spindle encoder that tells when in rotation the dog should engage and shouldn't that index pulse be stopping the spindle?
Could the problem be...
Thanks Al!
So you're saying that these are actual inputs on the Main Spindle Control and actual outputs on the Back Control? Even though there is some kind of communications between the two...
Some of the communication from the back control seems to get to the main/front control via inputs X0000, X0002, X0004 and X0006. All four of these bytes have all of their bits set at ones (1111...
When starting up the machine, what is the proper method for setting Z axis to the part face. (X needs to be calibrated too, but not worrying about that now)
I'm thinking;
1. Turn on machine....
Hello all,
Several of us here on the zone have recently started using recycled CNC Lathes with Fanuc 5T controls on them.
The 5T is quite different than most other controllers being used today....
An oscillating feedback loop is sure a way to heat things up.... I'd check for causes of that.
How tightly coupled is the encoder to the motor? Is there a loose belt, coupling with loose set...
I'm not commenting about anyone in particular, but don't confuse intelligence, experience, and knowledge. These are all completely different things and are SOME of the ingredients of EFFECTIVE...
FOR ALUMINUM:
We've used Korloy Inserts with Profile & Grind for aluminum in Dolfa Face/shoulder mill holders.
Korloy Inserts are available from Travers.com tool company: TCGT 21.52 HI CARB....
Easier said than done (at least for a newbie like me).*
I've made some major progress, but now hit a wall. There are 10 logic OR rungs to the ladder in question.
The first rung is ASP and uses...
Still need a little help,
Now that the shop is quiet, no stupid employee questions, and the phone is not ringing its time for me to get this machine working again. I'm a week behind with jobs on...
'Just sent you some via an email. Sometimes large emails are blocked, let me know if you get them or not.
