How is a 2013 mill new??? This machine has never made a single chip

Thank you Mactec54. Forgive me if I am not asking the right question, but is this the difference between avi and pwm? Syil told me the board handles both and jumper #5 is the difference between:...
I have measured voltage between the P/A and Ground pins as Stephen (from DMM) requested. I got the following voltages:
M03 clockwise 4.40
M04 counter clock .681
M05 stop spindle .681
...
Ironically I am just fixing it to sell it. Imagine that! I bought it 6 years ago brand new, it has never made a chip, and I spent another $800 in spindle stuff, just to sell it. Lol. Easy come easy...
Hey All.
I have a Syil X4. It is a 2013 model and has never made a single chip! The spindle control has been blown out since it was new. When I finally got around to fixing it, Syil didn't sell...
Well, I guess I'm not the only one then!
At least I'm not alone...
Lol

Hey All,
I am looking for a g-code simulation software program for the lathe, preferably free. I would imagine there must be tons of super simple programs out there to this end, but if there are,...

Hey Neil,
The big board at the bottom is:
Honcar HBLC-1100-300H-S0018A
Power Main Board Ver 1.0 2012.05.18
The little board at the top is:
Tonman PCF12171 Rev. 1.1
When I had everything pulled out that went to the rebuilder....

If any close up shots will help I can take more pics
Thank you!
Neil and Maxspongebob,
I was hoping you guys would show up! You both have tried to help me before. In fact in the last thread someone recommended the guy I sent the board to for rebuild

Hey All,
I'm at my wits end with this Syil X4. I've had the spindle board rebuilt, still no movement. Vid here on where I'm at:

At this point...
Yes, would you post a picture of your set up.
I am having the same trouble!
Thank you,
CE
Bob, You'd know better than I would! No luck whatsoever with Syil still.
I am curious about the https://www.anaheimautomation.com/pr...tID=999&cID=23 controller though. A bit pricey, but was it...
Yes sir. I replaced all the thermistors on the board and put a new fuse in as well. Upon reinstallation and power up. Something arced on the back of the board, blew the main fuse in the system and...
Maxspongebob,
Wow, thank you, I just tried to find everything I could that was remotely schematic-ish. I don't know if this will be useful but here they are. Your board definitly has the...
Hey All,
I have another thread down there where I was trying to sort this blown spindle controller card. I have given up on hearing back from Syil or fixing the card.
I'd like to replace the...
Thank you. When you say "these have always had problems" do you mean the Syil spindle controller or DC control altogether?
Best,
CE
Hey All,
I have a Syil X4 that was new in 2013. I bought it from a guy who never hooked it up or ran it. Now after several years my shop build is complete and I finally fired up the machine. After...
I don't know. Is that the power supply for the unit? I had always thought the power supply would look like the one in a PC or something. If it is, that would explain why I don't see what looks like a...
So I found another problem and I wonder if it could have caused the problem with the blown thermisters on the spindle control board.
I found a loose connection at the monster relay in the center...
John, the path on the board looks exactly as you have presented it.
Jeff,
That is interesting info. Thank you. I wonder if I can actually order 1 set or if the shipping would be prohibitive.
I notice that the unit you posted is 220V. My machine is currently a...
Attached are a few pics of the spindle motor and the controller board.
If anyone can tell me anything about the motor (phases, what type of controller would work, etc) That'd be great. I'm also...
John,
Will take and post some videos of the board today. It sounds like reforming the capacitors is a bit out of my wheelhouse! I wish I had your electronic acumen. But I'll keep at it. Maybe one...
Jeff,
I just looked up "testing an IGBT" and it looks like I could do so with my ohmmeter. BUT, I don't know where to find it! Is it part of the driver board or is it a lone component in the...
John,
You learned me something new! Thank you.
It looks like the NTC's have 5D-20 on them. I went ahead and ordered 3 of them to try. After all if this unit is toast, then there is no harm in...
Jeff, the output on the drive does indeed have U V and W terminals. Also PE N and L. I'll pull the covers later on to try and get the spindle motor information. Thank you!
I just noticed that unit is a 3 phase output too. It doesn't seem like that would work with a 110v single phase machine. Am I wrong here?
Thanks,
CE
Jeff,
That is a very affordable unit too, which is nice. My mill is currently a 110V machine. Does that mean my spindle motor will only run on 110?
I'd rather have a 220v machine anyhow. It...
