I did 0.0001 - I tried 0.001 as well, there was not much difference between the two, so I went with the smaller one.
What confuses me is that I had Mach3 set with .01" for its constant velocity...
alan - You appear to have nailed it. I must say I am totally flabbergasted. I have been using Mach3 for a year or so, struggling with Constant Velocity settings and roughness/shuddering - LinuxCNC...
Thank you for the idea of disconnecting the ball nut. I just did it, and everything moves smoothly - meaning when I run my test program there is no shudder or any kind of hesitation while I was...
Hi all - I am having trouble with the Y axis of my router shuddering when doing short moves. It seems like something is binding, the question is how to determine what.
The machine is a an old...
Its been quite a while, and I have been pecking away at this machine as I can.
- I straightened the X axis, trued up the z axis and cut a subtable flat. At that point I was running each axis...
In case its useful in the future -
This one appears to be identical to the PS that came with my Xylotex:
24 Volt Power Supply, 6.5A 150W | MPJA.COM
I bought this one, hoping the extra $4...
Hi all - my xylotex powersupply has ceased to put out any dc power. I do not see any obvious damage, and am not much good at diagnosing electronics, so I think a new PS is in order. I am wondering...
What rpm/tooling are you using to cut aluminum? How slow can you safely run these Turkish motors?
Thanks
Bart
Brian - I really like what you are making with your machine. Could you talk about what you are using for CAD & CAM?
Thanks!
Bart
A further update -
I hooked up the xylotex stepper on the 48" axis - now I can reliably (at least in the time I have tried it) move that axis at 175ipm, which I believe is somewhere over 800rpm...
It sounds like your screws are about the same length as mine too. What steppers are you using? Are all your screws 1/2-8 2 start?
If you are getting 600-800 rpm reliably on 2 start screw,...
I completely agree about getting it running before pouring in the money. I got it going and cut a sample surface to compare to a sample I cut on a Techno cnc. It took longer (lower feed rates) but...
First off - thank you all for your responses! It will take me some time to digest the content!
As for what I want to do with it - I build furniture, mostly from wood although I use some aluminum...
Hi there - I have been lurking on this forum for the last few months as I planned to build a CNC. Just as I sat down to order the parts I got an email from a friend with a craigslist ad for a router...
