You are wasting your time with HSS in a router. You need to buy a carbide end mill.
Those are stepper motors. You might want to open up the box to see what each of the db25 connectors go to. If you can find documentation somewhere, you should be able to configure it to run on a pc...
I'm guessing your router is fixed at 20k rpms or so?
Get a 3/32" short 2 flute carbide end mill and cut full depth at 20k rpms and 10 ipm.
Your HSS bit will just burn up at router speeds.
I have cut 30mm aluminum plate on my cnc wood router, using both a cheap chinese 6mm x 30mm long single flute solid carbide, and a home depot freud 2 flute spiral solid carbide bit with only a 1" cut...

Sorry, but it looks very complicated to assemble, and very weak. Unless you have a surplus a steel U-channel that you must use, I would copy the design of cncrouterparts for a cheap and easy setup....
Totally normal for that setup. skate bearings on CRS isn't really a precision system, but it works amazingly well for what it is.
Is there a difference between an external left hand threading insert, and an internal right hand insert?

Total cut time ~5hrs w/ profile, grid, and chamfer.
This one was about 5 hours of cutting time. I don't remember more than 2 or 2.5 amps. Spindle did get warmer than ambient, but not by much.

I've had a dinky fountain pump slowly pumping a trickle through the spindle into a bucket for a few years now. That trickle stopped about 6 months ago, because of a small bacteria plug in the spindle...
What's up with the air port on the bottom?
Personally I would get rather get this spindle for almost 1/4 the price and just replace them as needed.

Not sure if they are the same as the chinese ones I have, but did you check the tiny set screws that hold the wiper in place?
I have no data to back it up, but I think 1000rpm is a big stretch for those motors. I don't know what drivers you will use, but I would bet on 300 rpm reliably. That would give you 1500 mm/min.

Beautiful work. I was surprised to see Mach3 running on a linux fan's build (why no linuxcnc?).
Also, unless you made sure against the specs of those ballnuts, I would say you are running them too...

If you found a good deal on the yaskawa then go for it. I think you would do ok with a 400W AC servo, you can find a set cheaper than the 750W.
