Hey guys, I need some info on something I know exists. I have a series of rotating cams (flat plates with cam profile) that I need to duplicate. I have a 2007 Haas TM-3 with a 4th axis rotary. I...
I appreciate the offer but it is working now. My top board on the z axis drive stack was repaired and the Okuma is back in action. The board was gone for a couple of weeks but it was around New Years...

Great to deal with.
I am just now getting back to reporting the outcome of the resolution. The company I used repaired the top axis driver board and the LB-15 went right back to work. I am attaching a pic of the parts...
I have sent the Z-Axis top board off for repair. I found a similar company a couple of states away that repairs them and offers a 3 year warranty along with a 10 day or less turn around. I will...
I tried the breaker...and the reset on the contact relay. They are fine. I ended up swapping leads and top boards to see if the power side (bottom) was bad. Once I swapped these, the upper board...

After letting my 1987 LB-15 sit idle for a week or so, we needed to start it for a run. It boots up like normal and the y axis moves fine...but when you try to jog the z axis an alarm pops up.
...
You guys nailed it. I removed the y axis switch housing and it was crammed full. I was amazed that the tiny flag slit in that housing allowed that many chips to enter. Cleaned the cavity and wiped...
Started up the TM today and when I hit the homing button, it homed z, then x. When the y axis switch saw the flag, it stopped and started creeping backwards, doing its little dance to fine tune the...
I have a mid 80's LB15. When the spindle stops from high rpm, there is a contact or something in the electrical cabinet that is buzzing. It is only when the spindle is slowing down rapidly. On the...
I have a 2007 TM-3. Hours are less than 1000.
A few days ago, the screen started a strange, interference type flicker. Like it was having trouble with the signal, and half of the screen would bend...
I have been shopping for used Haas for a while and I am now curious if I have been too stringent in my requirements for an acceptable unit. I am wondering what the life expectancy is for a Haas VF...
I have a Clausing 8100 lathe (21" model)...they are the same as the Colchester Mastiff as well. The apron feed gear box has one brass worm gear in it that has worn out. The gear is about 3" in...
Has anyone heard from user pit202?
He is a brilliant Pollock (that's mean...he's just from Poland) that used to peruse this forum to help and he has not posted in quite a while. He is the Polish...
I am in the market for a used surface grinder with 32" or more of stroke. I am curious what brand to shop for. Okamoto seems to hold their value. What about Chevalier? Kent? Brown and Sharpe? ...
What year did Haas switch to brushless servos? I am specifically curious about 1995 VF's. I do not have any experience with any Haas units from the 90's so any pros or cons you guys can throw into...
It is possible, but not for the average guy. You can actually tie into the processor board (with solder...not for the faint-hearted, and after mapping out the circuit board with an oscilloscope to...
Exactly my point. This is like the odometer in your car. It should be illegal (or impossible) to change.
I'm not trying to get in a shin kicking contest...I just felt like the depth of your questions was unnecessary because I thought (obviously incorrectly) that the picture was self explanatory. You...
That's the answer I was looking for.
Thanks.
Did you even look at the picture???
Less than 200 spindle hours on a 2000 VF3 and you think I felt it may be too high?
I would hope that something like machine hours was written in stone...and not...
Is it possible to reset the machine hours on something like a 2000 VF3?
I have been looking at one and the hours on the display seem impossible.
The screen shot is attached. What do you guys think?
That is a spring nut that goes inside unistrut channel. My guess is that it is foreign...I do not know of any unistrut on any model Haas.
The "dist to go" on the Y axis after homing is reading .1933" rather than your "rule of thumb .120". What does this mean?
I am not quite sure what this "dist to go" means...
So sometime during yesterday's run, chips blocked the tiny slit in the homing prox cover and bent the rinky-dink homing flag on my TM3. When I finally figured that out (was fighting a y servo error...
Unless it is an extremely deep thread, that's a great question...although the single point threadmill which is good for multiple pitches is much slower than tapping. But dedicated pitch carbide...
Well by default, MC will error if a signal is not read in a very short amount of time...but your logic is sound. I will look at the file transfer settings and see if there is a timer I can modify...
Doesn't ring a bell...I think I am working with "x" amount (length) of good'ol bubble memory...It seems to be rock solid, but it scares the hell out of me.
