    Spindle not turning on

Hello, I'm stuck. We have an old Yang SMV-1000 with Mitsubishi Meldas 50 controls. We were running a part and the belt failed which caused it to melt to the spindle. The belt was very hard to get off, but we finally got it off and put a new belt on. When we restarted the machine, everything worked, but the spindle does not come on, but no alarms are triggered. We have another machine for replacement parts. Our first indication is the drive went out. Replaced it with no change. Then, we replaced the motor, nothing. We swapped out the inverter, the power module, relays, checked fuses. We almost changed out the whole system. I'm not sure if there's anything left to change.

This is what we are experiencing. We used the MDI to run a quick spindle on program. When we run this, the cycle start light turns on for a millisecond and immediately turns off. No alarm. When running an actual program, the program runs through all the lines until the spindle on command at which it then just pauses the program at that line with no alarm. The manual spindle start button does the same as the cycle start, the light briefly turns on but nothing happens.

Would anyone have any indication what this could be? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Re: Spindle not turning on

Maybe the inverter needs to be reprogrammed. If you changed it, it probably doesn't have the same settings that the old one did, which made it turn the spindle on.
