My name is Simon Wotton, my profession as independent freelancer lies in the field of Industry 4.0 applications. My background includes a completed industrial apprenticeship, years of experience as a CNC technician & programmer (including 3 years of experience in SC, USA), application engineer for CNC machines at Yamazaki Mazak, and finally my 10 years in Industry 4.0 at Mazak Engineering.

Since August 2018, I am an officially certified Scout of the "Alliance Industry 4.0 Baden-Württemberg" - which is a coaching program, led by the german VDMA, funded by the State of Baden-Württemberg and developed by the Fraunhofer-Institute for companies interested in getting started in digitization (for more information see "Allianz Industry 4.0 Scout" on this Website). In december of 2019 our developments for i4.0 was awarded with the german innovation prize: "100 Orte für Industrie 4.0".

Through my knowledge from the point of view of the worker / machinist and the progression to the field of Industry 4.0, I am able to build a bridge between the world of machines and the world of IT (Information Technology). Through numerous speeches and as a lecturer, I have a lot of experience to bring these two areas together and that's exactly what Industry 4.0 is all about.
