ATL is Ingersoll Machine Tools’ Automated Tape Laying solution, designed for high-speed, precise layups of composite tapes on large molds and complex geometries. With its compact footprint and extra-large working volumes, ATL is ideal for tight female parts and complex male tools.

The ATL end-effector handles a wide variety of composite tape materials, including thermosets, thermoplastics, fiberglass, and mesh, in widths from 3” to 12”. It ensures consistent accuracy, even along intricate layup paths.
Equipped with an integrated ultrasonic knife, ATL enables clean, efficient cutting during transitions, minimizing downtime and waste. Available in horizontal, vertical, or robotic configurations, ATL integrates seamlessly with hybrid production environments.

Programming, simulation, optimization, and diagnostics are managed via Ingersoll proprietary software, ensuring flexibility and process reliability for aerospace, space, and defense applications.
