On Course for Success: Leipzig's Industrial Trade Fairs intec and Z

Leipzig's intec and Z - Subcontracting Fair are reporting full pavilions and a comprehensive range of exhibits just a few weeks prior to the start. From February 26 to March 1, more than 1300 exhibitors from 26 countries will gather at Leipzig's exhibition center. That makes the trade fair duo one of the most important events for the metal working and processing industry in Europe.

The intec increased its floor space by 7% compared to prior years. That means, the trade fair for manufacturing technology is showing its largest offering thus far of machinery, tools, technologies and services. The focal points of the exhibit include in particular cutting and machining tools, special-purpose machinery, precision tools and apparatuses as well as automation and industrial handling technologies.

At the same time the parallel Z - Subcontracting Fair has managed to strengthen its position as one of Europe's most important supplier trade fairs for machinery and vehicle construction as well as for plastics technology, medical technology and power plant construction. This year, there are many new suppliers who will be on hand to present their services. International exhibitors account for more than 30% of all exhibitors once again.

The organizers are extremely satisfied even before the Z and intec open their doors. "This year, visitors can experience a more diverse offering of machinery and exhibits in Leipzig," says project director of the intec und Z, Kersten Bunke-Njengué. "Many exhibitors purposely use this opportunity at the beginning of year in Leipzig to present their innovations to a broad audience. As a result, the trade fairs have become firmly established on the industry's international event calendar."

Key topics include this year resource-efficient production methods and the processing of new materials and composites. Visitors gain insight into current issues that are relevant for the industry not only at the trade fair stands but also at specially designated areas directly in the exhibition halls. In addition to that, there are also conferences and specialized events in the adjoining Congress Center Leipzig (CCL), which focus among other things on resource efficiency and vehicle construction.
