A suitable machine and spindle solution and an appropriate tool holder are required for high-precision or ultra-precision machining. It is jointly responsible for optimum precision and dynamics as an additional interface between the spindle and the tool. With a spindle taper runout of less than 50 nm and the best dynamics, our spindles are ideally equipped for ultra-precision and high-speed machining.

Spindles for ultra-precise machining require accurate, dynamic, and neutral tool clamping. Our tool spindles with HSK interface are commercially available tool holders according to DIN69893, only conditionally applicable. Using our highly specialized manufacturing technology and new or innovative balancing methods, we developed our HSK tool holder series UTS-x. With this, we achieved an ultra-precision tool clamping with the HSK interface for the first time. This complies with DIN69893 and results in a tool runout of 0.8 µm and a balancing speed of G0.3 mm/s at 60,000 rpm.

Our UTS-x tool holder series is available for the HSK-E25, HSK-E32, and HSK-E40 spindle interfaces and enables shrink-fit tool mounting of various shank sizes. Customized tool holders with spindle interface HSK-E25 and HSK-E40 are also available to accommodate fly cutting or grinding wheels.
