    Mach3 quit working.

Configuration: windowsXP, PMDX-122 parallel port motion controller. Taig disc top mill.

Been running this configuration for years and all of a sudden it quit working.

Tried lots of things to get it running again, but can’t.

Here is something I think is unusual that may lead to the solution .

When I run the diagnostics with Mach3 and I click on the “mist toggle “, the red light on output #4 flashes on and off. See attached photo.

This should not happen since I do not have output # 4 enabled in the “output list”, see attached photo.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,
    Chuck 767

Well, it turns out output 4 is flashing when I click on “mist toggle” because I have enable “Mist” in the spindle set up and it is associated to output 4.

So this doesn’t help solve the problem I’m addressing.

So it looks like this discussion is closed.

    Re: Mach3 quit working.

    Hi,
I use Mach4 and an Ethernet SmoothStepper and have done for 8.5 years. Prior to that I used Mach3 and a parallel port. Mach4 and an ESS is light years ahead.

It has been such a long time that I used Mach3 that I doubt I will be of much help.

Have you run the pulse engine test utility. It sounds like the parallel port motion driver is not working.

The xml may have become corrupted , it happens sometimes . Have you tried pulling one from the backup folder ?
