How powerful (watt) router or spindle motor do I need for this?

    Hi,

I just finish my first DIY CNC machine (xyz axis, ballscrews, 425 oz motors) but stil have to make up my mind on a router or spindle with speed control. I will use it with wood, hard plastic (Acetal/Pom) and aluminium. How powerful (watt) router or spindle motor do I need for this?

What kind of speed controller is used for routers (same type of motors used in hand held routers) or spindles (same type as the water/air cooled from China listed on Ebay)? What about the controllers C29 and C33 from CNC4PC in this case?
I'm new to this and little confused about the words router and spindle, how they are used and what they actually reefer to.

I cut similar stuff. plastic wood etc.
Even 3/4" 6065 Aluminum for a stepper motor mount.

I have been using an 800W air cooled motor from ugracnc.com with a Control Techniques Commander SK VFD 1HP.

Real happy with this setup. The machine is in an air conditioned area. If I ran outside in garage I probably would have went water cooled but really it doesn't even get hot, even on long runs it is just warm to the touch. Spindle runs much cooler than the Nema 32 Steppers.
This Control Techniques VFD runs on 110V AC and draws about 1.5 amps running full 24,000 RPM.
I measured 0.0002" TIR (internal spindle run out )
