So our old swiss is finally somewhat repaired, AC servo board was problem, machine didn't work for year and half if not longer. Service guys werent cheap but still better option then buying something on ebay from China without any warranty.

But now main spindle works same as with subspindle but it doesn't want to close collets and change tools?

In program it would stuck and M10 command (main collet), it would past M11 (open collet for Z zero) and dont do nothing when in jog mode I activate close collet switch. Same thing in MDI and same thing with sub spindle or Rear Op. as they call it.

Also it doesn't turn turrets (change tools) on manual command (tool select) green light turn on but nothing. In program and MDI it will apply offset but tool remain same (for example T1 but offset is for T3).

Interestingly only alarm I get is when I couple times active sub spindle collet switch and alarm is Head 2: No 2067 sub collet unit abnormality

For main collet I don't get nothing.

In Star manual last alarm is No. 2066, so no No. 2067

I want to figure out what could be problem by myself because investing more in quite old swiss isn't logically.

If I don't figure out what is problem, we plan to use it as second operation cnc lathe so we will see to mechanically close sub collet if nothing other works.

So any idea what is problem with closing collets and want could be problem with tool change?

Also one more question, if AC servo board again fails (it failed before I didn't work back then) is there any way to use sub spindle at all? Star don't allow nothing to be done if main spindle alarm is activated with is BS when there is almost new sub spindle in machine?

if you want to keep an old machine alive, it makes sense to solve the problems yourself

I don't know if my answer is already too late.
But have you looked at the hydraulic unit.

This has maybe an impact on all these signals
