Digital. Experienced. Powerful. - 100% Tool Management

More mobile – More integrated – More global

TDM Systems GmbH presents its Tool Lifecycle Management strategy at EMO 2015, from October 5 to 10 in Milan, together with three partners: tool manufacturer Walter AG, machine tool builder GROB WERKE GmbH, and CAM software provider OPEN MIND Technologies AG.

With its Tool Lifecycle Management (TLM) approach, TDM Systems is leading Tool Data Management into the future. TLM supports all operations dealing with cutting tools, and connects the ERP, PLM, and MES processes on a central platform. TLM provides continuous communication and exchange of tool and production data across all connected systems. The TDM Systems TLM strategy supports machining companies in their Industry 4.0 plans. The TDM Systems EMO presence represents the TLM approach and its integration with planning systems, machine tool connections, and tool know-how.

Sales of TDM Global Line starts in August. It allows manufacturers high-speed access to company internal tool data at any time and across all locations. The software that TDM Systems is presenting at EMO is an important component for customers who want to integrate more locations into their TDM system. Walter has the first deployment of the mobile tablet solution "TDM Global Line FlexCrib." This is a browser-driven add-on to TDM Global Line and enables the visualization of tool items and assemblies (master data and 2D/3D graphics), the completion of transaction dialogs with a scan function, and the display of transaction lists. A dashboard with management reports from warehouse logistics allows for transparency of tool inventory and circulation.

The improvement of data exchange from TDM to the machine tool is at the forefront of the partnership between GROB and TDM Systems. For the proprietary software G-Net, presented by GROB at EMO, TDM developed an interface that accelerats the exchange of tool and machine data.

At OPEN MIND's booth, those interested can check out the integration of TDM in the HyperMill CAM software. This allows the selection of and access to TDM tool data in HyperMill. From this arises a continuous CAM process in which company-specific tool data are integrated, which in turn makes possible faster tool selection and efficient data maintenance in a central database.

"With TDM Global Line, we now raise Tool Lifecycle Management to a global level," says Peter Schneck, Managing Director of TDM Systems. "The web-based add-on for tablets accommodates modern user behavior, and makes work and communication simple, mobile, and connected."

With all three partners, TDM Systems also shows the new major release 4.8, which provides many essential improvements.
