The Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture (OPC UA) interface standard is increasingly establishing itself in mechanical and plant engineering. The advantages are platform-independent, interoperable and manufacturer-independent industry 4.0 communication between all assets in the company.

The VDMA supports companies in the development of OPC UA Companion Specification and thus enables an open communication standard for the Smart Factory of the future.
