1934 The first ALESA cutting tools are manufactured.
1946 ALESA GOLD is born and is registered as an international brand name for high-quality cutting tools.
1958 Knife heads with exchangeable blades in HSS and carbide are the forerunners of indexable cutting insert technology.
1980 ALESA pioneers new vacuum technology for the hardening of HSS.
1985 The world’s first HSS-ES TiN indexable cutting insert product range, high-positive cutting geometry.
1990s Launching of the truly spiral ALESA TWIST inserts.
2006 Refinements and innovations such as solid carbide circular saws, indexable insert shell-end mills and the Nutex/Nutex Plus system.

TODAY
2006 saw the 4th generation of the family take over at the helm of the company, which is proud to be one of the few independent family-owned businesses in the industry. ALESA has around 65 highly motivated, well-trained staff in Switzerland, the majority of them boasting many years of experience. We collaborate with more than 60 partners worldwide with the aim of supplying the Swiss and global market with first-class tools, the very best technical support and reliable continuity of supply.
We achieve that by a high level of technical expertise and collaboration with technical colleges and universities at home and abroad.
