AMF presents wireless communication technology for the production

MarketingAndreas Maier GmbH & Co. KG (AMF) on July 5, 2018 at 10:41 AM

Communicate query positions wirelessly in production.
New to our range are the AMF wireless sensoring systems. With them we offer wireless communication technology for production environments.

The set consisting of a gateway, transmitter units and microswitches transfers queried positions wirelessly via Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0 technology to the machine control system. The space-saving, cost-effective solution provides the basis for fully automated, unmanned production processes. With switches for protection class IP67, also for rough environments.

"With our new wireless sensoring systems and wireless signal transmission, users create the basis for unmanned shifts", enthuses Erik Laubengeiger, Head of Sales at Andreas Maier GmbH & Co. KG. The new AMF wireless sensoring systems are a wireless communication technology for production environments which can thus be fully automated and operated unmanned. The set consisting of a gateway, transmitter units, microswitches, a WLAN router and additional accessories, transmits queried positions in wireless fashion, without interruption and energy-efficiently via Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0 technology to the machine control system or on tablets.

Complete set for diverse queries

The interface is a gateway which receives, monitors, visualises and forwards the radio signals of the transmitter units wirelessly to the machine control system. It boasts eight wireless inputs and eight potential-free relay outputs. The radio signal is transmitted interruption-free and energy-efficiently with 2.4 GHz via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 4.0). The range is at least ten metres. Antenna extensions widen the transmission path.

The transmitter units come in two sizes with batteries for up to 1.5 or up to five years of running time. The input receives the signals of the sensors via cables, with the sensors being available to protection class IP 67 for rough environments. This can be microswitches in a plastic housing with mini stroke switches or reed switches as cylinder sensors for T-groove cylinders. The sensors detect, for example, ring magnets in cylinder pistons, determine the grip positions of robot grippers, sense the positions of workpieces or recognise the closing positions of clamping systems. Furthermore, AMF offers wireless radio pressure switches for the pressure monitoring of hydraulic clamping circuits. The signals are forwarded on to the gateway wirelessly.

Basis for fully automated, unmanned production

With the AMF wireless sensoring systems, users put into place the condition for fully automated, unmanned production. Fitting accessories expand the options. For example, a WLAN router can be connected in order to access the Web-based user interface of the gateway using a tablet. A pairing stick activates the connection mode of the transmitter units; antenna extensions and spare batteries with flat seals also belong to the product range of the manufacturer.
