Five nominations for Rexroth in major industry awards

Leading drive and control specialist Bosch Rexroth is celebrating after being shortlisted for no less than five categories at the prestigious Motion Control Industry Awards 2017.

Recognising the achievements of industrial motion control companies and individuals who shine in their particular fields, the awards will be held at a gala event on Tuesday 9th May at the National Conference Centre in Hampton-in-Arden, near Solihull.

Bosch Rexroth has made the final cut in the Technical Innovation of the Year award, for its Operator Guidance System created for Triumph Motorcycles; and also for the Project of the Year for its design of a highly innovative offshore wind piling template which radically cut installation time and cost.

The company’s prowess in developing the engineers of the future has also received recognition through its work with the JCB Academy and has been shortlisted in the Skills & Training category. The ‘Bosch Rexroth Challenge’ is a scheme which equips students from the JCB Academy in Staffordshire with hands-on experience of hydraulic system applications, including a behind-the-scenes tour of the London Eye.

The Awards credit individuals too, and Bosch Rexroth’s Jason Capper has been selected in the final three for Engineer of the Year. While the whole company, Bosch Rexroth, has made the shortlist for Manufacturer of the Year.

Sean Kilgallen of Bosch Rexroth commented: “Motion control is a key aspect of our offering and so it is extremely gratifying to be recognised across so many categories in the only awards scheme specifically focused on motion control. As a company we constantly seek to push the boundaries and innovate, as well as developing our own staff and young engineers who will lead the sector in years to come. To be recognised by our peers within the motion control sector is a great testament to that and we’re already looking forward to the awards evening in May.”
