Motors for intelligent drives

High-dynamic, precise and easy to configure – the latest developments in the motor spectrum from Bosch Rexroth follow these basic requirements for automation and electrification. The high-torque synchronous servo motor MS2N is now also available with an integrated encoder in the SIL3 PLe category for demanding tasks with SafeMotion. The new MS2E series enables single-cable solutions with conformity to ATEX in device group II, category 3G/3D. As an attractive direct drive alternative to classic ball screws, Bosch Rexroth is supplementing its motor range with the ML3 series featuring self-cooled, iron-core linear motors. Thanks to their high dynamics and force density, they enable the shortest cycle times in many applications.

The high-torque synchronous servo motor MS2N has proven itself in the Bosch Rexroth Connected Automation range with their high dynamic, synchronization and a robust single-cable connection, with up to 75 m cable length. In addition to the functionality of using the motor with the IndraDrive drive controllers as a torque sensor for i4.0 applications, the servo motor is also now available with an integrated SafeMotion encoder from the high-performance SIL3 PLe safety class. This eliminates the need for additional safety components in the system. The motor model in the IndraSize engineering tool enables safe, quick and simple drive configurations that correspond exactly to real operation. For environments with explosive gases and dust, Bosch Rexroth introduces the MS2E variant. With ATEX conformity to device group II, category 3G/3D, applications in zones 2 and 22 can now also benefit from the efficient single-cable connection.

The self-cooled linear motor of the new ML3 series with iron core provide the highest force density, the lowest cogging force and high dynamic. This makes them an attractive alternative to classic ball screws with servo motors. With fewer components, minimal wear and the highest speeds, they achieve a significantly higher productivity for a wide range of applications from digital and 3D print through laser machining to pick-and-place applications.
