We are delighted to announce that the European Commission has appointed CECIMO as a member of the High-Level Forum on European Standardisation, with our President Dr Heinz- Jürgen Prokop as our nominated representative and our upcoming President Mr François Duval as our alternate representative.
The aim of the forum is to identify standardisation priorities in support of EU policies and legislation, and discuss horizontal issues such as international leadership or education and skills in a multi-stakeholder setting. The forum will assist and advise the Commission in anticipating upcoming standardisation priorities and contribute to the EU’s role as a global standard-setter. It will allow European standardisation actors to identify, prioritise and address challenges facing the European standardisation system and propose solutions.
Considering CECIMO’s long-standing experience in standard-setting processes, we are strongly convinced that for the long-term well-functioning of the High-Level Forum the machine tool industry must remain a key stakeholder. Having said that, CECIMO looks forward to contributing to the important work of the forum.
