Hi all,
I am in the process of getting an old Leadwell VMC connected to my laptop. I have worked through most of the problems, and I can now send programs from the CNC to the laptop. However I cannot load a program from the laptop to the CNC memory. Here is what I have done or checked so far:
The cables:
Fanuc Honda Fanuc DB-25
9-------------------------2
8-------------------------3
20-------------------------4
19-------------------------5
18-------------------------6
17-------------------------7
16-------------------------8
5-------------------------20
Yes, I had to rewire both ends of the factory cable. I am not sure why it was wrong, some people sould not be left alone with a soldering iron! Anyway I found the pin outs for the honda here on this site for a 6M, and they were also in the maintenence manual.
Fanuc DB-25 9 pin serial
2----------------------------2
3----------------------------3
7----------------------------5
4-5
6-8-20----------------------1-4-6
I have tried all the combinations for the 6-8-20, 1-4-6. Ie some say not to hook them together some say do. All the combinations work for me, there was no change. I can still only send from the CNC to the laptop.
I am using Cadems NCnet lite free software. It is set to 4800, 7, e, 2. I have tried different flow controls right now it is set to none. I also checked the system page on the laptop and set the port FIFO settings the same as the software. I also slowed the baud rate down. No change, just slower.
Parameter 005 is 10000011. Some where I read that parameter 0014 needs to be set a certain way, but my book says that 0014 is only used if the I/O is set to 1 whid it is not.
TVON is 0
I/O is 0
EIA / ISO is 1
I cannot find the problem. Unless it is a cable problem, but I have ohmed them twice and all seems well. Any thoughts, guesses or comments are welcome (needed...please
Thanks in advance,
Dan
