DMG MORI at CCMT 2014, Shanghai

DMG MORI will present 14 high-tech machines during the CCMT trade show in Shanghai in February. On our 600 square metres large booth, we will show live cutting on turn-mill machining centres and 5-axis universal milling machines imported from Germany. At this year’s CCMT our machine portfolio produced in China is taking the spot light with a 5-axis milling machine and the full line of the cost efficient ECOLINE series made in Shanghai and high precision horizontal machining centres produced at our new manufacturing base in Tianjin.

High-precision Horizontal Machining Centres of the NHC series
The highly rigid machining centres NHC 4000 & NHC 5000 enable superior acceleration thanks to lighter moving parts, thus rapid traverse rate are increased by over 20% from 50 m/min to 60 m/min. The machine uses a thick, high-rigidity bed with the X and Z-axis linear guides in a high position to ensure high rigidity. The minimum distance from the spindle gauge plane to the centre of the pallet has shortened and the inner diameter of the spindle bearings has been increased allowing even greater machining rigidity. With a wide range of machining solutions from low-speed cutting of cast iron to high-speed milling of aluminium, the NHC series meets the diverse needs of the automotive and other manufacturing industries. These are the first horizontal machining centers that are produced at the Tianjin Plant.

New Compact Machines with 3D Controls
The CTX 450 ecoline continue what ECOLINE has been standing for for many years now: cutting-edge technology with proven components at the best price. In relation to the compact footprint of 4.9 m², the work area offers maximum space to machine complex and large workpieces.
Its highlights include the highly dynamic servo-turret with optionally up to 12 driven tool stations and short cycle times, spindles with up to 75 mm and 110 mm bar capacity, as well as wide guideways and linear guides for high rigidity and positioning accuracy.
The choice of 3D controls is unique in this segment: SLIMline® with Operate 4.5 on SIEMENS 840D solutionline, HEIDENHAIN CNC PILOT 640 or with MAPPS IV on MITSUBISHI. A huge range of optional features such as the direct measuring system are also available for the new universal turning machines. The ECOLINE machines are manufactured within the international production network in different manufacturing plants in Europe, China, Japan and the USA.

5 Axis CNC Universal Milling Centre for Diverse Applications
The DMU 50 introduces a new era in the workshop, training, laboratory, fixtures and tool industry. This CNC Universal Machine is characterized by innovative machine construction technology. Highlights such as digital drives in all axes, a rapid traverse up to 24 m/min and a motor spindle up to 18,000 rpm give the DMU 50 increased dynamics. Besides the standard rigid table, there are other table options available including a manually operated table, a motor-driven swivel rotary table with hydraulic clamping and a simultaneous table. The latest cross-slide design with a ribbed cast-iron column provides a basis that offers noticeably more precision and rigidity. The latest control technology with the DMG ERGOline® Control, a 19" screen and 3D-software guarantees the highest operational speed, as well as precision and reliability. DMG MORI's DMU 50 offers an ideal and an affordable entry into the world of 5-sided / 5-axis simultaneous machining. This model has been produced in Shanghai.

Turning-milling centres with an integrated TurnMill spindle
The CTX series is offered as an intelligent modular building block system from which the customer can put together his own individual universal lathe. The options range from the single-spindle chuck machine equipped with a fast turret to complete machining with counter spindle and Y-axis.
During CCMT, the presented turning/milling centre CTX beta 1250 TC is a representative model of the CTX series, equipped with integrated turn-mill spindle. One of the hot topics in the machining industry is the integrated combination of diverse technologies. And complete machining on turning-milling centres counts among the key disciplines here making the CTX beta 1250 TC just about the best the market has to offer. The most compact model in the series can machine turning parts with lengths up to 1,250 mm and maximum diameters of 390 mm. The generously dimensioned and clearly visible work area is part of the ergonomic design of the machine and offers users maximum operating comfort.
