DVS TECHNOLOGY GROUP live at GrindTec 2016

From March 16th till 19th, the DVS TECHNOLOGY GROUP will present itself at Grindtec, the world's leading trade fare for grinding technolgy. On 190 m², the DVS TECHNOLOGY GROUP showcases a world premiere for the flexible hard finishing of shafts and chucking components, precise tool and dressing solutions for PRÄWEMA gear honing as well as innovations in the CBN grinding tool segment and latest advances in DISKUS double face grinding. BUDERUS UGrind – World premiere for the flexible hard finishing of shafts and chucking components

UGrind – the workshop machine for the hard finishing of shafts and chucking components made by BUDERUS Schleiftechnik GmbH is celebrating its world première at the GrindTec in Augsburg. The simple operation of the UGrind using intuitive operating software, a multifunctional tool revolver and the integrated measuring device reduce overall machining time by more than 50%. There are two main ingredients in this recipe for success. The first is the fact that the machine was developed from scratch to meet the requirements of shop fabrication, with the objective of optimised reproducibility. The revolver, for example, which was specially developed for the UGrind, has an extremely integrated design and is fine-tuned to the compound slide below. The outstanding lever arm ratios and thermo-symmetrical structure result in a highly dynamic and thermal sturdiness of the machine, so that high reproducibility of the required manufacturing qualities can be achieved. The second major factor is another dedicated development – the intuitive operating software with integrated machining and measuring cycles. The clear colour scheme combined with logical pictograms guarantees user-friendly and efficient operation of the UGrind. All the operator has to do is enter or upload the workpiece geometry data and define the machining points. The machine calculates optimum process parameters as well as the most efficient process strategy and starts machining immediately at the touch of a button. The multifunctional tool revolver guarantees maximum flexibility. As well as outer and inner machining, faces and cone surfaces can also be ground and combined with hard turning if required. The integrated measuring sensor on the UGrind monitors and controls the machining until the final dimension has been achieved. Time-consuming work such as re-measuring or successive feeding is no longer required, which means the overall machining time for fitting grinding, for example, can be significantly reduced.

Introducing DVS TOOLING

DVS TOOLING is introducing itself to trade visitors in Augsburg as a new supplier of original tool and dressing solutions for PRÄWEMA gearing honing. For the first time, the 2-zone honing ring “PRÄWEMA ORIGINAL 1.725” will be presented – a product developed jointly with the affiliated company NAXOS-DISKUS Schleifmittelwerke. During gearing honing, high forces are used to achieve high-precision machining results. In combination with component-specific influences, these forces lead to vibrations during machining. For this reason, the geared machining zone of the PRÄWEMA ORIGINAL is enclosed by a second so-called attenuation zone. This ensures that the vibrations generated are transmitted to a much lesser extent to the honing head and the machine, which allows consistently high workpiece quality to be achieved.

Longer service lives with Aumento Pro from NAXOS-DISKUS

“Aumento Pro” is the advanced development of the well-established CBN bonding “Aumento” from NAXOS-DISKUS Schleifmittelwerke. The CBN abrasive grit is bonded very tight in the matrix thanks to the new bond. This permits the bond share to be reduced while at the same time increasing the bonding strength of the abrasive grit, thus permitting the machining process to be carried out at higher feed and supply rates. Both the service life and performance of an Aumento Pro CBN grinding wheel are significantly increased, at the same time reducing the tool costs per tool.

DISKUS DDS-XR for the highly efficient face grinding of flat components

The special field of face grinding and double face grinding within the DVS TECHNOLOGY GROUP is in the capable hands of DISKUS WERKE Schleiftechnk, which has been dedicated to the technology of face grinding since its early pioneering work in 1911, constantly optimising and developing the technology ever since. The company is presenting the modern DDS-XR range at the GrindTec. With this range, the workpieces are conveyed on a transport plate through the grinding gap, which allows workpieces with a widely differing geometries to be ground coplanar. Depending on the machine equipment, there are four different grinding methods available for machining. This makes the DDS-XR range ideal for machining a wide workpiece spectrum of flat components flexibly, economically and in top quality. Thanks to the compact design and only one loading side, the grinding machine is not only easy to automate but is also suitable for manual loading in the case of small batch sizes.
