VDMA congress “Producing more intelligently” against an international backdrop
Top forum for manufacturing engineering on September 16 and 17, 2013 at the EMO Hannover - Solutions in focus for the production challenges of today and tomorrow
Frankfurt am Main, February 18, 2013 - For the first time, the “Producing more intelligently” congress will take place in the course of the world´s leading trade show for the machine tool industry, the EMO Hannover. Based on the theme “Inspired by technology,” everything at the congress on September 16 and 17 will revolve around the possibilities afforded by intelligent production. The organizer is the German Engineering Federation VDMA. The congress will be supported by VDW, the German Machine Tool Builders` Association, which is also the organizer of the EMO. “The combination with the EMO is ideal!” emphasizes Carl Martin Welcker, Managing Partner of Alfred H. Schuette GmbH & Co. KG and EMO General Commissioner. “The world’s largest international platform for production technology offers us the opportunity to make the congress even more significant internationally.” The EMO takes place every two years. In September 2011, it was attended by approximately 140,000 visitors from more than 100 countries. “This year, the EMO has the guiding theme of ‘Intelligence in Production’”, says Dr. Wilfried Schaefer, Executive Director of VDW. “Therefore, the congress is the perfect supplement, since the trade show visitors can deepen their specialized knowledge.”
Solutions for the challenges of today and tomorrow in manufacturing, the latest manufacturing technologies as well as current trends in the machinery and plant engineering sector will be presented at the 4th congress on “Producing more intelligently”.
Among other things, the thematic focus will be on the topics of: excellence through lean production and flexible value chains, efficiency through sustainable and resource-saving production, ‘Industry 4.0’, respectively intelligence and communication in manufacturing.
Besides high-calibre lectures, the congress program will include themed tours around the EMO. “Our guests from all over the world can see the secret of our success for themselves: Germany is an industrial country – thanks to intelligent production,” explains Hartmut Rauen, a member of the VDMA Executive Directorate and lead manager for the congress “Producing more intelligently.”
