Delaminaton-free machining of reinforced plastics

The end mills of the product line FRANKEN Fiber-Cut offer burr-free machining and a clean cut of fiber-reinforced plastics. Several types of toothing, helix and coatings cover various applications.

The product line FRANKEN Fiber-Cut contains all tools for machining of fiber-reinforced plastics. By the reinforcement with carbon fibers, glass fibers or aramid fibers these plastics make specific demands on a milling tool.

End mills with ZR-coating in diameters between 4 to 20mm are available for roughing in CFRP and GFRP. Together with various geometries and toothing types they enable a wide range of applications, such as machining of slots, pockets or continuous contours.

The end mills with diamond-ZR-coating offer the largest application range in CFRP and GFRP, they are available in diameters from 1 to 20mm. They can be used versatile and are suitable for roughing and finishing. Special toothing types ensure a clean cut of fibers and thereby a burr-free machining. The toothing types also allow an extremely high volume of chips combined with optimal chip removal in one machining step. This saves the additional machining step of roughing, which would be otherwise required. For micro machining is a special end mill with diameters from1 to 3mm available. The high-performance diamond-ZR-coating leads to extraordinary tool life.

For drilling or trimming operations in aramid fibers are end mills with alternating tooth helix direction available. Their diameter range with uncoated or TIALN-coated versions covers 5 to 12mm.

The Fiber-Cut end mills offer with their newly developed geometries in combination with the high-performance coatings highest efficiency for various industry sectors, for example automotive industry, medical technology or aerospace industry.
