Quick change for taps
The tap holder EMUGE Softsynchro® QuickLock allows for a quick change of the threading tool in the machining center without having to remove the tool holder. The user benefits from a higher flexibility and time savings.
Lauf an der Pegnitz, Germany, September 18, 2017 | The Softsynchro® QuickLock tap holder represents EMUGE´s latest addition to the Softsynchro® family with the use of a quick-change system. The tool-free change of the taps is particularly useful if tools fail unexpectedly or in case different threading tools have to be changed frequently and there is no tool magazine or insufficient magazine space available in the machine.
The Softsynchro® QuickLock tap holder represents EMUGE´s latest addition to the Softsynchro® family with the use of a quick-change system. The tool-free change of the taps is particularly useful if tools fail unexpectedly or in case different threading tools have to be changed frequently and there is no tool magazine or insufficient magazine space available in the machine.The tried and tested Softsynchro® minimum length compensation is integrated in the tap holder, which transfers the torque separately from the undesirable axial force, thereby optimally compensating for axial errors during thread production.
The quick-change system is based on EM-Z QuickLock quick-change adapters, into which the tap is mounted and adjusted in length. These adapters pre-configured with the tool can then be changed without tools in the tap holder. The radial backlash between quick-change adapter and tap holder was minimized and hermetically sealed against dirt by design measures in order to achieve a high precision system.
The quick-change tap holder enables the use with taps from M4 to M20 and is available for all common machine connections.
