Quicker tapping of small diameters

Seven small thread dimensions from M 1 to M 2.5 extend the EMUGE Punch Tap tool family. The TiN-coated tools are suitable for internal thread production in aluminum wrought and cast alloys, for example in housing parts in the electronics industry. In difference to the previous dimensions starting from M4, the process has a modified kinematics for diameters up to M 2.5. A straight axial movement of the tool during insertion and retraction replaces the helical movement and thus also realizes time savings of up to 75% in the thread cycle. To produce these small threads, the previous punch tap cycles in the machine controls are further used, only the value for the programmed pitch is adjusted. And all common tool holders without minimum length compensation can be used as tool holders.
