The foundation-stone to ERO-guidances was already laid in 1963, though this enterprise used the firm-name of "Mechanical Workshop" for the time being.

The M-longitudinal guide was introduced by ERO as one of the first standardised slideways and is taking effect nowadays as an industrial standard.
